During the 1600″s science as a universal discipline began to grow. The church began to change their deadly stance opposing science.
At this time, we have two books that are perfect. It’s the book of nature and the book of life. The book of nature can not create life but supports life. Of course, the book of life can create life abundantly. These are the books that God created. Man is still learning from both.
What is the relationship between the two books? Firstly, the book of nature being perfect can help correct a false interpretation in the book of life but can not correct the perfect book of life because it is perfect also. The perfect book of life encompasses the book of nature. God created nature and then breathed life into a piece of nature (matter) and created life. Our bodies (matter) supports our lives.
We have scripture in the bible that reveals a relationship between the two books: Romans 1:20; “ For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.”
In Psalm 19:1-5; “The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
2 Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they reveal knowledge.
3 They have no speech, they use no words;
no sound is heard from them.
4 Yet their voice[b] goes out into all the earth,
their words to the ends of the world.
In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun.
5 It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber,
like a champion rejoicing to run his course.” Clearly, God speaks through nature and this is a relationship between the two perfect books. Furtherly, in Psalms 19:7-9; “The law of the Lord is perfect,
refreshing the soul.
The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy,
making wise the simple.
8 The precepts of the Lord are right,
giving joy to the heart.
The commands of the Lord are radiant,
giving light to the eyes.
9 The fear of the Lord is pure,
The decrees of the Lord are firm,
and all of them are righteous.
It has always been expressed that humans are connected to the creation of God. We have the discipline of Apologetics that treats this connection and has shown the harmony between science and God’s Spirit expressed in His Word.
We are to do all things unto the Lord – see the spiritual connection to the material actions. One might say that we are going toward death because the material has no life; only supports life, but there is in Isiah that says “see I lay a stone that can be trust to live by—;” and Romans 1:20 as stated above. There is light from God that can be seen from the material states. Of course, as we develop, we can come into the light and truth of the Lord Jesus. Not only does the material support our life, but the procedures to arrive at the supporting nature serves the Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus Who is the Son of God.
