Why is the Trump presidency turning so disastrously so quickly? Could it be because his critics were completely correct all along?

Leftist Viewpoints & The Resista

Kelly Marie

Because Trump has ignored the Constitution, Congress, common sense, and humanity. And his life of endless crime and abuse is becoming more and more clear.

Sadly, a complicit, spineless, feckless GOP full of cowards who bow to a mad king will never stand up for America.

GOP is as much at fault as Trump is in destroying Democracy and allow the conman, felon to continue to get rich at the expense of the American people.

The republicans in congress only have 11 months to convince the American people that everything we’ve seen & heard this year isn’t real. It really doesn’t matter anymore until then. When the time comes. We will have a comeuppance. The lunatic will be history. Although very bad, sad history. Because irreparable damage has been done by America’s most criminal and corrupt administration ever.

I blame the preachers for this blasphemy. They spew white supremacy with it’s woman hating homosexual rants telling their congregations that their white male creator told them women are garbage and should not have all the rights of men because they are evil. I hate to tell you people, but it makes no sense for the Creator to be symbolized by a male when it is FEMALES who make new life out of their own being and nurture it with their own bodies. If that isn’t an act of astounding creation, I don’t know what is!

Indeed, the holy grail was never a cup.

It’s mind-blowing. And disgusting.

As a fellow, it concerns me that we have a poundshop Trump in the form of Farage and he seems to have plenty of supporters too. History repeating itself.

He works. He’s president of the US between 12 and 12:15 every day. Then president of Venezuela, then chairman of the board of the Kennedy center, then its on to his interior decorating job, then his construction job, his semi-golf pro job, running his criminal empire. He’s a very busy bee. Between the hours of 12 and 4 pm. Then its nappy time. To be followed by hours of posting garbage on truth social…

I’m old. There’s nothing wrong with that. There are, however, many, many things I used to do—things I’d like to do again—that I’ll never be capable of again. I reluctantly accept that.

I’m not sure trump was ever capable of rational thought, empathy, or kindness; but if so, age has dulled those qualities to the point of non-existence.

There’s indeed ‘nothing wrong’ with getting old, as long as we recognize the real effects.

At the senate hearing yesterday I think I counted maybe two actual questions for Jack Smith from republicans (mainly “did you subpoena my phone records?”). The rest of the time they were stating their own opinions and conspiracy theories loudly and repeatedly. They don’t want to know the truth and they focus all efforts on generating outrageous sound bytes for right wing media so their followers won’t want to know anything either. Anyone who only follows right wing media will never know anything about what Jack Smith’s investigation uncovered.

Lynn Wemitt

The Republicans got us into this mess! It’s up to them to clean it up. Stupid assholes,! They think they are so wonderful. If the country had been led by Democrats none of this crap would have happened!!!!

Dems are messy and noisy. They are a diverse bunch and argue incessantly about policies but they eventually hash out a plan and a policy. Then they put on their work clothes and get to it. They are work horses and they get things done for the people, not for the rich and priveleged.

I’m Canadian, leaning more to the Democratic Party but usually favour the Independent Candidates (btw, can’t understand why they don’t do well and have not elected a president. Probably be the best thing for America). The Democrats failed to lead on important issues and paid the price. And therefore are somewhat responsible for the state of America today. The Democrats have to do much better going forward. Start with the basics: honesty and integrity

Billiehanna Hanna · Sat

The repubs simply kept talking, asking almost no questions in an attempt to keep him quiet, to prevent him from telling the truth.

James

I work on a rural area and these people are addicted to fox entertainment and they believe anything they say? This has been a problem?

Billiehanna Hanna

It is the top propaganda network. It has worked so well, dems should do it with this difference – THEY should just tell the fact checked truth!

A Adrian Walters

Well, Democrat supporters believe everything their favourite propaganda machine spews out too.

I hope they listened when the Governor of Minnesota was testifying in front of Congress and clearly tried to convince Congress that the media lies.

He claimed that even though they said he was at a march against ICE and showed him marching there, he was never there.

So remember now you supporters of that clown, do not believe any word that the media says, they lie.

He is of course not incorrect, the media does not actually care about the truth.

They care about controversy and sensationalism and if none of that is present they will manufacture it.

Jonathan LecClier

Only one network has had to pay nearly a BILLION dollars in fines for being guilty of fake news.

Fox News.

Freddie Yokum

Daniel Clayton

Richard Jordan

Have you only just in 2026 figured out that news outlets lie? There are a few, very few independent newspapers that will be telling you something closer to the truth. But media looking to make a profit to make someone rich, you can guarantee the news they create will be for the target audience.

James · Sat

Ian Knight

Robert Jones

Benjamin Harris

Ben Henderson

So which set of lies do you believe?

A Adrian Walters

I am a great believer in making opinions on Objective and substantiated fact.

I am not interested in hearsay and especially not from a media source citing some nameless source.

You want to convince me of anything, provide solid proof that will stand up in court.

Otherwise it is only people speculating and in some cases letting their fantasies control their thinking.

That goes for the media like CNN, and others on the left and for FOX and others on the right.

They are in the business of making money by pushing particular narratives.

The truth cannot be allowed to stand in the way of a narrative that sounds good to some.

The problem is that people on both sides for instance will believe the carefully edited information that they are exposed too and will make no effort to obtain raw footage etc.

Let us take for instance the famous issue from the Charlottesville speech.

If you go watch the C-span footage, you will clearly hear the President say”there were good people on both sides, and I am not talking about the white supremacists and radicals” yet everyone seems to have lost the second part of the sentence conveniently because if they include it then all of a sudden the President does not sound so rascist after all.

Anyone who edits like that and produces a false narrative is a problem and just deliberately stoking division with disinformation.

They should just report the news and let people decide for themselves.

Now does President Trump say a lot of things that are clearly not well considered, for sure he does, and his staff should take his phone away so he can stay off social media for sure.

Do I agree with everything President Trump does, definitely not, especially where it concerns Ukraine.

Now don’t misunderstand, I am not saying that the President should start sending weapons free of charge to Ukraine, however I believe that the President should sell them anything they need short of weapons of mass destruction.

Russia cannot be allowed to retain even one inch of Ukraine, because that will embolden others to try such land grabs too.

Most wars are just armed robbery on a grand scale, and allowing te aggressor to achieve even marginal success is not the recipe for future world peace.

Now at the same time I hear people claim that the President should stop interfering in the rest of the world if he is all about America first as he has stated.

Now I agree , I also have heard him say America first many times, what I have not heard him say is America separate from the world or even America alone and isolated.

Once again, in order to push a narrative people hear what they want and not what the President actually says.

Then one comes to Trump is a rapist.

That is not factually correct as he has never been convicted of rape.

The same as Trump is a paedophile.

Seriously, what evidence is there of that?

So he knew Epstein, many people knew Epstein, most of which are probably not guilty of any crime.

Knowing someone is not a crime yet.

The Clintons knew Epstein too, and they are refusing to face questioning.

Does that make them paedophiles too?

I would never claim that because there is no evidence to that effect.

They may wish to avoid questioning due to other reasons, like maybe suspect business dealings or for perfectly innocent reasons.

Do we know for a fact that they committed crimes?

No, so we should refrain from calling them criminals.

Do we know fort a fact that Trump was involved in Epstein’s sexual deviance?

No. so maybe we should refrain from calling him a paedophile too.

Everyone needs to make their own choice about whether they will simply be another of the sheep in their particular echo chamber or whether they should maybe apply some common sense reasoning and filtering of BS and rather try to discover the truth.

From an outsiders view as a non American, I believe that Trump means well and really wants to see America prosper, and I see everyone simply opposing him on everything, instead of sitting down with the man and trying to find a more amicable way to tackle issues.

If the opposition were honest and serious about wanting to improve the lives of everyday Americans they would be working with the President to find ways to do just that.

Claiming the only way to help people with medical expenses is to subsidize insurance conglomerates does not sound like a viable solution to me.

Someone needs to work at lowering the cost of medicine, medical services and concurrently medical insurance.

Why should the investors in medical insurance companies get richer off the tax payers hard earned money when they are working hand in fist with the medical service industry and the pharmaceutical industry.

Is it because they are the largest donors to political campaigns and also keep the media houses afloat with their advertising money.

One can go on and on, however it seems that the people in the USA are either blindly pro Trump or equally blindly anti Trump, and the general population is suffering but no one seems to actually care.

Time to work together and make a success for all.

Connie Hollimon

His niece Mary Trump has warned us about his narcissistic personality forever. It was on display from day one, his supporters CHOSE to ignore it. He cares about nothing but money. No amount is enough because that empty hole inside of him can never be filled.

Hell, the Republican Party created and nurtured the Tea Party after their loss of Congress and the presidency in the 2008 elections. Where do you think MAGA came from?

When li’l donny yellow-stripe came down the esclator in ‘15, he had already hijacked that astroturf movement for himself. When he threatened to leave the Republican Party to run as a third-party candidate, the Republican leadership had a melt-down. They knew that if he left, all of their Tea Party faithful would head out the door with him, and they’d have no chance of beating Hillary. So they bent the knee and pledged undying support to the mob boss.

The big tech companies spent nearly 1 billion, just think about that for a moment, in lobbyists and donations to trump before the election. Trump believes everything is for sale. That is everything. I love hearing Trump supporters (me being sarcastic) claim immigrants and a large population of working Americans are just grifters looking for a free ride. The very people America was built on. I wasn’t born wealthy and worked hard, two and three jobs and student loans, to get my college education and career. My great grandparents were farmers and I was the first to graduate college. I’m still not wealthy and never will be but I am more American than the idiots running and pilfering our country today. And in case you think I’m not, I am white and educated with a masters in history. Most people are just trying to do the best they can. Mary Trump, Donald Trump’s niece, who has repeatedly stated that if her uncle feels he is “going down,” he will try to take others with him. She is a clinical psychologist and author, has made similar comments in several interviews and in her writings. In November of 2020, shortly after the election, she said, “If he thinks he’s going down, he’s going to try to take the rest of us down with him”. In 2022, she reiterated this point, stating, “Donald will burn everything down if he feels like he is going down. We cannot discount that. We ignore him at our peril”. Most recently, in November 2025, she restated her prediction in an interview, saying, “He will not go alone. He will take as many people down with him”.

These statements reflect her analysis that Donald Trump becomes most dangerous when he fears losing control or relevance, and that his “nihilism” would lead him to try and destroy the system around him rather than face a solo downfall.
