Intelligent Design and Biblical Scripture

RACE RELATIONSHIPS: racism once again has taken front stage with the disastrous episode of Donald Sterling. Forgive me for being some what passive as a black man following the dropping of the hammer by NBA Commissioner Silver, and the overwhelming support of Silver by the American public because when I began in the job market I was by hook and crook fangled into my job at Sears by a personnel manager of another store because the store in which I was placed was making excuses why they hadn’t complied to hiring blacks except for maintenance work. I was placed as a big ticket salesman.

The Sear’s president at my workplace would not speak to me but would only raise his nose and then look away as if I didn’t exist. Their ploy to get rid of me was to keep a tally of all of the small offenses which were in themselves questionable as being any form that offended store policy such as when I was working the late shift (closing at 9 PM) a customer can in and said that he needed a mattress immediately, and the storage area was closed. I said that we could deliver a mattress to him shortly after 8 AM the next morning. He again reinforced the fact that he needed a mattress for tonight and that all other furniture stores had closed. He asked if he could buy the displayed mattress. I said yes. He purchased and loaded it in his truck. The next morning our warehouse man brought another mattress to the sales floor.

Another reason for my termination was that on my off day I had scheduled an appointment at the home of a potential carpet customer. I became very sick with the flu, like throwing up, and had to cancel. The lady complained because she had invited some of her lady friends to help her choose the carpet to buy. Believe me or not, the two above incidences were the major cause for my termination. I remember to this day the last words of the vice president of personnel saying “we can’t run a business like this. Pack up things and leave.”

Now, they are all dead and buried. The federal law says that they must be buried six feet under ground so that even the animals wouldn’t dig them up even if the casket deteriorates. Forgive me Heavenly Father, but it was your choice that they die.

The word “apologetics” sounds like the English word “apologize,” and at one time, the two might have been connected. But today, the two have a very different meaning. We know what it means to apologize to someone. But how do Christians respond when asked, “What is apologetics?”

Apologetics, simply put, is the defense of the Christian faith and message. We find the following instruction in 1 Peter 3:

15 but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect, (1 Peter 3:15, ESV)

“Brothers and fathers, hear the defense that I now make before you.” (Acts 22:1, ESV)

And when the governor had nodded to him to speak, Paul replied:

“Knowing that for many years you have been a judge over this nation, I cheerfully make my defense. (Acts 24:10)

It is right for me to feel this way about you all, because I hold you kin my heart, for you are all partakers with me of grace, both in my imprisonment and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel. (Philippians 1:7, ESV)

Believers in Jesus Christ are told in Scripture that they must have the ability to defend the Christian faith. That is, we have to be able say what we believe and why we believe it.

On what basis do we say that Jesus is the divine Son of God, the eternal second person in the Trinity?

On what basis do we say that the Bible is the inspired, inerrant Word of God, and our guide for faith and life?

On what basis do we say that Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation, over against all other religions’ claims?

These types of questions, and more, are addressed in the study of Apologetics.

We learn the answers to these questions by digging deep in Bible studies. Bible studies help us understand what God is saying to His people. We also study writing that specifically answer the question, “What is apologetics?”

Gravity makes no exceptions regardless who you are. Gravity works 100% of the time as does other laws of physics such as energy can not be created nor destroyed; only can be stored in matter.

The laws of  physics has instilled  attitudes into the mind of humans. The sciences and Christianity are in harmony, and does not contradict, but both maintain absoluteness…our first lessons.

God’s spiritual law of listening and obeying Him at all times demands perfection; although, God gives grace and hand out blessings for our partial performance. Humans have a demand from God to obey His spiritual law and a demand in the material world that is necessary such as nourishment and water, and shelter at times. Our faith must be strong enough to listen to God while God gives how to meet the Earthly demands as part of our fellowship with God.

Once one has the love for God and faith in the Son of God, Jesus, one is no longer the product of one’s environment; rather the environment becomes a product of one’s presence. This is always spiritually true with manifestations in the material world.

In the beginning the Word was with God and the Word was God and the Word became flesh Who is the Son of God. God created all and nothing existed that was not created by God. God created science and technology and allowed man to discover  and exploit it as a blessing and statement from the Kingdom of God.

Evidently, if one possesses God’s Holy Spirit, than the mind has metaphysically powers…mind over matter. Jesus ceased a storm and put life back into the dead; made wine with water. Also, if one has faith without doubt than one can move mountains with their mind because they have become a conduit for God to speak and act.

First, I want to thank you so much for all that you do. You’ve certainly stretched my brain in ways I didn’t really think were possible. I guess my question is a testament to that. My question involves the concept of multiple, or rather, infinite histories within the frame of the multiverse. I think I remember reading in one of the many multiverse articles that Jeff wrote that an infinite universe…is purely physical or something along those lines. So, from that I concluded that things like Scripture are unaffected since they talk about spiritual things and truth is a non-physical thing. However, I’ve begun to wonder, if there are indeed infinite histories, is it not possible that in the reaches of the infinite universe there is another planet just like ours, with humans like us, with a Bible just like ours, with a savior just like Jesus who claimed to be the Son of God, except that this Jesus died by some other method or taught some other truth? So, from this how can we really know if spirituality, or the human soul, exists, or even if truth exists, if it’s all just a product of the multiverse? I hope to hear from you all and God bless.

Good question, Ethan. To start, I would argue that humans on planet Earth are unique regardless of the existence/size of our universe/multiverse. And, no, Jesus does not take on another human nature as savior on some other planet. But a couple of things need clarification.

First, the reason that more scientists think an infinitely large multiverse exists ultimately derives from inflation. Recent evidence strongly argues for an inflationary epoch early in our universe’s history. As scientists seek to understand how inflation works they repeatedly encounter the situation that the very process driving inflation produces an extremely large (if not infinite) universe—a universe that is one member of a vast multiverse.

Second, in this scenario, the size of our universe (extremely large and possibly infinite) raises the question of whether everything we can see actually occurs repeatedly in other parts of the universe. To clarify, consider a five-card hand dealt from a standard deck (no jokers). Each new five-card hand will likely differ from the others because more than two million—2,598,960 to be exact—possible hands exist. However, dealing the 2,598,961st hand guarantees at least two identical hands. The same situation arises when considering our observable universe. Although it is extremely large, the number of arrangements of all the space, time, matter, and energy is finite and our observable universe is much smaller than the whole inflationary universe. Thus, it would appear that the whole history visible to humanity would repeat in distant regions of the universe.

Why, then, do I argue for the uniqueness of humanity? Because the scenario described above occurs only for the physical stuff (like atoms, photons, electrons, etc.). Yet, the Bible describes humanity as being made in God’s image, which seems to include an inherently non-physical component. Even leading atheistic thinkers to acknowledge that consciousness does not reduce to physical components. If humans possess an inherently non-physical component, then no amount of rearranging the matter of the cosmos will reproduce humanity somewhere else (although a planet similar to Earth will happen). So, we are the only humans in the universe.

One powerful way to determine truth is to test claims against reality. Time and time again, the claims of the Bible match the data derived from studying this universe. Given that record, we can trust what it says about the uniqueness of humanity with confidence that future tests will continue to affirm its truthfulness. (JZ,RTB)

The world is a toy space of the Kingdom of God which conditions, and teaches us about what God’s Kingdom is about, and how to get there and stay. The upper limit of the human mind is being in the presence of God which is possessing the Holy Spirit. Eternal life can be tasted by us mortal beings, but there is a material boundary to cross before being in the pure spirit forever.

(1) The first step is to believe in the Lord Who is our guide to the Kingdom of God.

(2) The second step is to follow and obey the Lord, and not let anything distract us from the Lord. One must be determined.

(3) The third step is to not give up regardless of the urgencies to abandon the journey. One must wax strong in the Spirit.

(4) The fourth step is to stay in the presence of God. Since in the flesh we must make efforts to support our natural needs. God created these needs, and if be in the presence of God than God shall give means to meet those needs. “Do everything unto the Lord.” Strong faith fulfills all four steps. In this state one must be, at times, very intense.

Acts 1:8; “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

One may question that no modern man has ever entered the Kingdom of God so why strive during the four steps. The answer is God evaluates each soul perfectly at any instant of time. It’s the intent of your heart at that moment, and the dedication capacity of your mind, the Potentiality…are you lukewarm or hot in receiving counsel from the Lord and obeying.

When in the name of Jesus, God counts it as righteous; in other words, God counts it as perfect. Perfect at one moment deserves a taste of Eternal Life at that moment; a glimpse of the Kingdom of God. In the name of Jesus, the Son of God, we shall be fully accepted into the Kingdom of God.

Colossians 3:23
“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;”

All information in the bible has purpose related to the four steps. The inspired Word of God is from above from God. There are many intermediary states that are very similar to the last state of man; such is the nature of God’s toy space, the true meaning of nature and soul.

Matthew 18:18
“Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”

Hebrews 11:3

Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

Colossians 1:16;  “For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.”

Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, 24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ. (Colossians 3:23-24, ESV)

God has given us the ability to help ourselves learn about the Kingdom of God so that one can recognize at least part of the truth. God gives partial credit.

Man increasing knowledge is to recognize the Son of God Who gives all answers in life. All form is about the Son of God, Jesus. Science is blind without religion; especially when lacking fellowship with the Son of God, Jesus.

Intelligent Design – Machines
Intelligent Design is obvious upon close examination of any machine. The concept and design inherent in a machine, whether simple or complex, is self-evident. Whether a machine is high quality or low quality, its designer is both necessary and apparent. Information Theory states that concept and design can only result from a mind. Even the diminished quality of a poorly constructed machine cannot obscure the necessity of an intelligent designer. Machines, as defined by French Biochemist and Nobel Laureate Jacques Lucien Monod (1910-1976), are “purposeful aggregates of matter that, utilizing energy, perform specific tasks.” By this authoritative definition, living systems are recognized as machines. A living organism fulfills the definition of a machine all the way down to the molecular level. And yet, because of the philosophical and religious implications of life resulting from Intelligent Design, a surprisingly large portion of the intelligentsia seek to find a mechanism by which life may arise naturally by random chance. Evolutionists admit the inconsistency. George Wald, an evolutionist, states, “When it comes to the origin of life there are only two possibilities: creation or spontaneous generation. There is no third way. Spontaneous generation was disproved one hundred years ago, but that leads us to only one other conclusion, that of supernatural creation. We cannot accept that on philosophical grounds; therefore, we choose to believe the impossible: that life arose spontaneously by chance!” (“The Origin of Life,” Scientific American, 191:48. May 1954).

Intelligent Design – Life
Ignoring the obvious Intelligent Design that permeates life, scientists have developed the theory of evolution in an effort to explain the origin of life via spontaneous generation. This “scientific” theory is very distinctive. Commonly, scientists observe data, interpret the data, and then formulate conclusions based upon that data. Yet, evolutionists have formulated their “scientific” conclusion without resorting to any data at all. In fact, evolutionists have steadfastly maintained their conclusion despite data to the contrary.

Intelligent Design – Education
Evidence indicating Intelligent Design is abundant and overwhelming. Since the reemergence of evolutionary thought in the last two hundred years (popularized by Darwin’s Origin of Species in 1859), evolutionists have zealously sought evidence to validate their theory. Nothing has yet to stand up under the close scrutiny of an in depth scientific evaluation. And yet, curiously, evolutionary thought prevails in the mainstream. Thus, evolutionary “scientists” have disposed of true science, and replaced it with philosophy and imagination. “In fact, evolution became in a sense a scientific religion; almost all scientists have accepted it, and many are prepared to ‘bend’ their observations to fit with it.” (H.S. Lipson, Professor of Physics, University of Manchester, UK, “A Physicist Looks at Evolution,” Physics Bulletin, vol. 31, May 1980, pg.138). Since the beginning of the modern evolutionary movement, quite a few fraudulent evidences in favor of evolution have been submitted and remain in the textbooks, despite their exposure as blatant deceptions. Ernst Haeckel’s work is an appropriate example. Haeckel, a German embryologist, altered drawings of various animal and human embryos, making them nearly identical. He presented his altered pictures as evidence for evolution between species, and used them as a platform to successfully promote evolution. In 1874, Haeckel’s drawings were exposed as frauds by renowned embryologist Wilhelm His. Shortly thereafter, Haeckel was convicted of fraud by his own university. Yet his fallacious drawings of nearly identical embryos are still in science textbooks over 100 years later as evidence for evolution! Those drawings are being taught to kids in school today as evidence for evolution. Why? Why not present real evidence? Because there is none! David M. Raup, an evolutionist, freely admits, “In the years after Darwin, his advocates hoped to find predictable progressions. In general, these have not been found — yet the optimism has died hard, and some pure fantasy has crept into textbooks.” (“Evolution and the Fossil Record,” Science, vol. 213, July 1981, pg. 289). It seems that “pure fantasy” is the politically correct term for “calculated lies.”

Intelligent Design – DNA
An excellent example of intelligent design is the DNA molecule. Since its discovery by James Watson and Francis Crick in 1953, evolutionists have faced an insurmountable hurdle. Anyone who truly investigates the mystery of the DNA molecule — this incredible micro, digital, error-correcting, redundant, self duplicating, information storage and retrieval system, with its own inherent language convention, that has the potential to develop any organism from raw biological material — understands that life is the result of Intelligent Design. In light of recent discoveries such as the DNA molecule, the absurdity of the evolution argument is readily apparent when its basic formula is compared with that of the creation model of origins. Creation states that matter + energy + information = incredibly complex life. Evolution states that matter + energy + random chance = incredibly complex life. The theory of evolution is merely a religion that serves to discredit the Intelligent Designer Himself.

Introduction

The Bible is often described as a book that includes many ideas that are scientifically inaccurate. The truth is that what many Christians (and non-Christians) have misinterpreted the Bible in such a way as to make it seem to be at odds with the reality of our world. For example, the Roman Catholic Church promoted geocentrism (the idea that the earth is the center of the universe) for many years. This concept is not found in the Bible, but stems from the idea that since humans are the center of God’s attention, that the place where they live must be the center of God’s universe. This is neither a logical nor biblical inference. In fact, the Bible states that the heavens “fix their rule over the earth,”¹ demonstrating that the heavens control the earth and not the other way around. The early proponents (Nicholas Copernicus, Johannes Kepler, Galileo Galilei) of heliocentrism (the earth revolving around the Sun) were all Christians (see related page – People of Faith – Famous Scientists). In fact, Isaac Newton, in his famous scientific work, Principia, stated, “The most beautiful system of the sun, planets, and comets, could only proceed from the counsel and dominion on an intelligent and powerful Being.”

Purpose of the Bible

Of course, the Bible was not written as a work of science nor was its purpose to describe the workings of the physical world. It was written to explain spiritual principles – the nature of mankind, the nature of God, and how people can have a personal relationship with God. However, when the Bible describes the physical world, it is accurate. The purpose of this page is to illustrate some of the remarkable examples of scientific principles described in the Bible hundreds to thousands of years before they were proved to be true by science.

THE BIBLE AND SCIENCE

All of our values has been truncated, and posed as absolute values. Even in a relationship with a spouse the relationship is mostly based on truncated values; probabilities. Would he or she like this? Would he or she become angry if I did such and such. Personal decisions behave in the same manner. I think I can do such and such; I have a good chance of accomplishing such and such. Truncating values have us believing totally in a false 1 to 1 relationship such as (1) I am going to the store and (1) store is there every time that I go to store. Now, I do believe that such should be accepted as an absolute because I can get away with it 99.999999999% of the time. By the way, the latter number is a truncated value; there are an infinite amount of 9’s remaining out there.

Experts can represent themselves as little gods with truncating values, and claiming them to be absolutes as attributed to the  Absolute God. In essence, as the digits on the right side of the decimal point approaches infinity the closer to the true reality of God. Reality in a perfect sense is known only by our Absolute God. Although, this is an ongoing debate among scientist, mathematicians, and philosophers. We are governed by stats such as one and one-half person…a truncated person.

Once we remove the truncation, the Word of God value system begin to come into view such as “tomorrow is not promised to anyone…” (One day the store may not be there.); “Listen to every word from the mouth of God…” (Our accuracy may not work), and “We may not have all the story.” (There is more minors to the story than the major facts) (A butterfly flips its wings and causes a hurricane on the other side of the world.)

Accepting the Lord Jesus allows His Spirit to govern each person. Jesus has the absolute values because he listens to every word from His Heavenly Father only. Jesus is always in the Will of God. Jesus doesn’t use truncated values; He uses only absolute values because God has filled the infinite listing of digits on the fractional side of the decimal point; achieving perfection. Father God, Son of God, and God’s Holy Spirit is within our mind resting beyond our truncated value system, and desiring to fill all of the spiritual law perfectly which is reality.

Isaiah 55

PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH CHRIST JESUS: nonbelievers usually characterize all Christians as one group when in essence God deals with each human on Earth, and each individual is responsible to God. Every Christian is a work in progress between him/her and God as is every human in the world. Whether you turn your back on God or not, God is always present in your life.
Romans 13:1
“Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.”
Being a born again Christian or an inspired Christian in development doesn’t mean to worship the Pope, your pastor, or any other religious figure. First, seek God’s solution for your position on any issue.
Matthew 6:33;
“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” (All mean everything in existence.)

6 Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.

2 Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

3 But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:

4 That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.

5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

11 Give us this day our daily bread.

12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
