Intelligent Design and Biblical Scripture

God has anointed each person differently; each person has a unique soul. The church is the bride of Christ Jesus, and is more than sufficient to give each soul knowledge of the Word of God; although, each soul has different needs both materially and spiritually. If one accesses what makes them fit into a group of any kind, than one is surely to miss out on a critical personal need; especially spiritual, and this is the most important because the spiritual advances one into the Kingdom of God.

Any person can talk with God with honestly and patiently. When speaking to God expect and wait for an answer. At first, the worldly thoughts shall rush into your mind, but hold steady, and you shall know God’s answer. Talking with God can bring a refinement to the biblical scriptures tailor-made to only you. The scriptures are critical as guides that put you in the field, and the living word of God directs you to the buried treasures; fruits of the Spirit shall follow.

Listening to God is the first step to win favor with God, but one must obey to reap the rewards of the Kingdom. “Listen to every word from the mouth of God and obey is the fulfillment and purpose of life; all other things are vanity.” King Solomon.

Faith without works is dead. Our Loving Heavenly Father makes it easy to obey Him. His yoke is easy and His burden is lite while giving Eternal Life.

Last week Christianity Today posted an article discussing clergy and their views on origins. As the article reports, new Barna Group research (commissioned by BioLogos) “shows that a slight majority (54 percent) of Protestant pastors across all regions most likely identify with young-earth creation.” Those remaining are more likely to lean toward theistic evolution. The other two positions offered were “progressive creation” (an ambiguous term) and “uncertain” (meh).

In a sense it feels like there are only two clear options: young-earth creation and theistic evolution. It’s helpful to keep in mind that origins scenarios extend beyond an “either/or” option. Here’s where some clarification of these ever-changing terms might help. This list, which borrows from Hugh Ross’s book More Than a Theory, helps elucidate the options.

Evolution

Initially referring to “change over time,” this term has (ehem) evolved to describe a belief that all the changes observed in the record of nature (including the origin and history of the universe, Earth, and all life) can be attributed to natural causes alone.

Young-Earth Creation

According to this perspective, the Genesis creation days must be six consecutive 24-hour periods. Moreover, the Genesis genealogies contain few if any gaps, leading proponents of this perspective to calculate that all of creation is between 6,000 and 10,000 years old. The general public tends to assume that “creationism” is synonymous with “young-earth creation” and intertwined with the evangelical belief system.

Intelligent Design Movement

Various cultural and religious backgrounds have proposed that an intelligent Designer is responsible for the origin and history of life. The distinction with the Intelligent Design Movement is their aim to get this concept into the classrooms. However, the movement refrains from identifying the Designer, making the concept untestable and therefore deficient as a scientific model.

Old-Earth Creation

In general, those who hold this view accept the biblical account of creation as a historical event (the creation days being long but finite periods of time) as well as the findings of mainstream science (including a billions-of-years-old universe and Earth). Views on the creation days and genealogies, bipedal primates, and Noah’s flood vary.

Theistic Evolution

This view maintains that God miraculously intervened at the origin of the universe. From there, perspectives on God’s involvement vary. Fully gifted creation, for example, asserts that God is responsible only for the initial creation of the universe. Evolutionary creation, on the other hand, suggests that God created the universe and all life through evolution.

Framework Theory

Framework theory upholds the biblical creation account yet doesn’t assign chronological order to the details of the creation week. The creation account provides pictures or metaphors for God’s creative activity in the kingdom of heaven.

Progressive Creation

The Barna Group describes this view as belief that God created life in its present form over a period of time, but not via evolutionary process. We would clarify that some who call themselves progressive creationists accept that all life stems from a common ancestor. (Our point is that the term is vague, sometimes referring to old-earth creation and other times to theistic evolution.) Variations on this view accept an old universe and Earth but concur that life has been present on Earth for only thousands of years. RTB is often misidentified as adherents of progressive creation.

Concordism

This view asserts that God’s Word (the Bible) and God’s world (the record of nature) are in harmony. Any conflict or discordance between the two arises from a faulty interpretation or incomplete understanding of the data. (Hugh articulates our concordist position here.)

As you can see, there are plenty more origins scenarios to consider. Ideally we’d like to see more colors (representing more perspectives) added to Barna’s graph. Moreover, it would be nice to see the percentages for those in the “uncertain” camp diminish. (Uncertain was defined by Barna as those who believe that God created life but are uncertain how.) Delving into the science might seem daunting, but understanding where the universe and humans came from (and where both are headed) helps answer some of life’s big questions. “Ultimately, what’s at stake is who or what determines the meaning of life,” Hugh explains.

Looking back to my first year of faith, I recall falling into the “uncertain” camp. But in the years since, I’ve come to cherish how God reveals himself through nature. Science (yes, science—the subject I dreaded in high school) continues to affirm the Bible—therefore it must be the inspired word of God.

So which of the above options do you lean toward? Perhaps you already hold firmly to your selection or perhaps you’re still trying to nail it down. In either case, it’s helpful to give careful thought to the other perspectives. As Hugh puts it,

Understanding the variety of choices for origins’ scenarios supplies a context for testing which positions are indeed the most viable. Any hope of understanding creation/evolution issues requires a comprehension of the various positions.

After a cursory investigation into the different views of Creation as opposed to Evolution, I soon realized that neither school of thought really to any substantial degree considered the “Pre-Design” of the human. Yes, our present human states did evolve over time, but it was constantly nurtured by the evolving environment which was designed by God. It is obviously true that the two predetermined designed entities are part of the truth of how and why the human “Is” at present. It’s a severe fallacy to assume that human perception, self-awareness, and reasoning powers of a specific design doesn’t play a role in the specific truth which reveals our purpose of existence. Therefore, the scientific method, regardless of its rigidity and exhaustive procedures, is missing the most critical input to determining the truth in a universal sense. The design of our brains and bodies! Their initial predetermined design and the fulfillment of such design. There is no place for random evolving design as displayed at present. Obviously God is the first cause of all creation.

The brain is made up of billions of neurons which produces electromagnetic fields. There are neutrons for reasoning and associating things, and neutrons for memory storage. From this construct we have developed a toyspace of knowledge. I say toyspace because it is not the reality of God Himself, but instead is a cultivation in the likeness of God who by faith shall guide us into our Godly state, a return to the paradise, the Kingdom of God. Toyspace is functional and a snapshot of our present collective spirituality.

As we all know, life is not a physical construct, but we live in a body with a physical brain. Where did the spirit of life come from? Scientist knows that life can not come from a piece of matter. This is where the Evolutionist stop, and assume that life has always existed. Well than, why does it end with each person? Why does it begin new with each person? All of the sophisticated arguments by Evolutionist does not address these questions. If they did, then they would have to admit that the first cause is God. God is the life giver.

Our consciousness has to be the physical universe plus our spirit which constitutes a soul as given by God. Our senses interfaces with the external world while the brain make sense of the data. Our God given life in which God measured to each of us is constantly being cultivated as we experience life. The life is a spirit as God is the Spirit, and gives a part of His Spirit while creating each soul; thereby, creating a conscious life. Matter only supports this life. It is the intelligent design by God Who creates and supports each life. God gives a piece of His Life to each of us for each one’s coming into being.

I, Will Myers, posted this essay because I am a student of physics. I majored in physics, and upon completion of my B.S. I was inducted into the Physics National Honor Society (Sigma Pi Sigma). I respect Einstein as the father of modern physics. I love Einstein for his stand during the early 30’s for civil rights. He carried a NAACP membership card and attended some meetings when it was detrimental to do so. You might guess that I am a minority of the Black kind.

God has given each person a measure of life. This life makes all of us a part of God’s Spirit. We are truly His sons and daughters, but at first man knew not their Heavenly Father, our Creator. Each of us is a part of God, and each have a compulsion, an umphsion, to know God. There is no rest for man until he finds his Heavenly Father.

God gave free will to each human so that each could seek the truth of God and begin to know Him; therefore, each person freely has the choice to love God or not. This naturally and necessarily has constituted a self-awareness, a person hood, that is unique to each person which is called a soul.

Adam and Eve made a choice to be equal to God by eating from the tree of knowledge in order to know what is right or wrong. This sin separated them from God, and thus began a long journey seeking an illusion because God is the absolute, and with Him there is no right or wrong, only God’s Sole Will. We are all still on that journey.

Christ Jesus came to save us from that endless journey which is going to only end in death of the humanity. Thru, in Christ Jesus each person can choose the fullness of life, fullness of the Light, and be restored to God’s presence.

One of the functions of the mind is to search for the immediate and the long-term path of least resistance during one’s daily interactions. The old saying “…sleep on it…” is true in the sense of allowing the involuntary activity (God’s Design) of the mind to find or create the best solution for one’s future; immediate and long-term solutions.

The eternal and infinite mind of God gives us revelations that fit our capacity as humans. This is the “precept after precept until all mysteries are revealed” in which Jesus spoke of this phenomenon as related to our Creator’s Design.

God sent His Son, Jesus Who is God among us, to Save each soul and return each soul to the Kingdom of God. Furthermore, to bring Eternal Life to this world again. Upon Jesus’ ascension we are now to expect the return of His Spirit coming from within each person’s mind; “Thy Kingdom come”; a supernatural spiritual phenomenon. In this Spirit we taste Eternal Life, a toyspace example of living the permanent Eternal Life with God forever.

Jesus came also as a problem solver in the physical world, and shall solve your problems if only you have the faith; listen and be patient enough until Jesus draw it in your mind. All things are possible with God thru Christ Jesus for He has risen, and shall return with whatever one need; a summation from our Eternal and Infinite God Who has infinitely determined perfectly the correct answer for each problem in our life.

The human mind in order to feel free must not have possible threats (Potentialities) in the short or long terms. We all are aware of the effects of an imminent threat, but the mind involuntarily senses feelings of threats deep from within our subconscious mind, and attempts to notify our conscious mind. The feeling of breaking free comes when one is born again into the Infinite Spirit of God because Jesus has overcome the threats of the world. “Oh death where is thy sting; oh grave where is thy finality.” God has no limit; if God is for you, than who can be against you.

You’re Standing on a Floating Plate This just in—ice floats in water! Unlike most materials, as liquid water cools to near its freezing point, its density decreases and then expands as it freezes. Thus, colder water and any ice float on the warmer liquid water below.

Seems anticlimactic, doesn’t it? However, if water did not possess this unusual property, Earth’s habitability would dramatically decrease. Ponds, lakes, streams, rivers, and possibly even oceans would freeze completely solid—not just on the surface—more regularly and take far longer to thaw after temperatures rise.

Amazingly, a similar phenomenon occurring deeper in the Earth may be responsible for enabling our planet to maintain the long-standing plate tectonics so critical for enduring life. Recall that Earth consists of a shallow crust, mantle, and an outer and inner core. Moving from the crust toward the core, most of the relevant materials in Earth’s interior absorb water more readily (because both temperature and pressure increase with depth). One material, a mineral called aluminous orthopyroxene found throughout the Earth, exhibits peculiar behavior in the upper mantle (just below the crust) called the asthenosphere. In this region, aluminous orthopyroxene’s capacity to dissolve water drops dramatically, but increases again at greater depths. Therefore, the materials in this region of the mantle absorb less water than those above and below with the consequence that a large abundance of “hydrous” melt exists in the asthenosphere. Think of a cracker sandwich with jelly (as the asthenosphere) in the middle.

Why does all this matter? The melt provides two important functions. First, it significantly weakens the asthenosphere such that it becomes more malleable and fluid. Second, the melt absorbs a tremendous amount of water compared to the other mantle components and, consequently, it dehydrates the region above the asthenosphere called the lithosphere (or crust). The lithosphere is comprised of the crustal plates that migrate over the surface of the Earth. Taken together, these two effects lead to a process—otherwise known as plate tectonics—where the rigid crustal plates “float” on a weakened and malleable asthenosphere.

Another mineral called olivine constitutes the dominant component of Earth’s mantle, and the solubility of water in olivine and orthopyroxene is similar—at least in the absence of aluminum. Until recently, scientists believed that olivine controlled the water storage capacity of Earth’s interior. However, the addition of aluminum increases the solubility of orthopyroxene nearly one hundred times. Consequently, scientists now recognize aluminous orthopyroxene, with its unusual solubility characteristics, as the controlling material responsible for Earth’s ideal tectonic activity.

This discovery also implies constraints on planet sizes where plate tectonics can occur. On planets that are too large (or small), the location of the asthenosphere will be too deep (or shallow) to permit the necessary crustal plate movement. As the authors of the article conclude, the existence of plate tectonics “is possible only in a planet with a water-bearing mantle” (that also contains sufficient aluminum). Such results echo the words of the Creator who fashioned Earth not as “a waste place, but formed it to be inhabited. (RTB,JZ)

Most scientist agree that reality can not be observed; we only get very close to it. Physicist Planck discovered what is now named the Planck constant, h, in which the only signals that can be detected is E=hv; whereas, E means energy and v represents the frequency of the energy wave that can be absorbed by a measuring device. So, there are many waves of energy that would constitute reality is always missing; one hundred percent accuracy is not achievable.

The mental case is the same during the process of associating (active) electrical potentials as they interact in the brain. There is always a veil between us and reality. We look threw a mirror dimly.

Jesus brings us the missing light, a new reality. In Him we have metaphysical powers that comes with fasting and prayer; mind over matter because he is God among us; 100% man and 100% Divine. God’s Holy Spirit Is reality. In reality we have our purpose which is being in the presence of God again; a returning to the paradise; by grace Jesus has paid your sin debt.

Our subconscious mind works involuntarily constantly to provide the big picture of the truth. From the depth of our subconscious mind form involuntarily evolves into our conscientious mind as solutions to the problems which was created from our daily experiences.

The brain is like a computer that stores info which is needed routinely during our daily interactions and is voluntary actions. The brain carries superficial information while deep within our subconscious mind involuntarily our mind is creating info concerning the big picture of one’s life; the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

Our mind constantly searches for the truth in an attempt to unify all data. First comes solutions and adjustments for one to better fare during their daily orgies in life; this data is of the superficial nature. Secondly, the more in-depth info permeates into our conscientious mind as revelations, premonitions, and dreams.

Our purpose and goal in life is constantly being sought deep by our subconscious mind deep into the recesses of our minds, and produces precepts that bring us stability:

The one God…

Jesus, the Son of God,…

God’s Holy Spirit…

Jesus is God among us…

God is the only concept Who is absolute.

True Christianity with doubtless faith is the form of the supernatural, and is very powerful; mind over matter whereas we receive metaphysical powers. Unity in the mind is sought, for lack of a definitive terms, for the economy of the mind as God designed which formulates in order to send helpful info into our conscious mind so that we can have a better life experience.

Abstract form becomes religious beliefs and manners for a better life experience. The accruing of these beliefs became schools of thoughts that we can call our collective states, Toyspace, which are solutions to our question of where did we come from and where are we going and for what?

It doesn’t take much imagination to realize the power of prayer which ask for the supreme form, God Who resides in the uttermost recesses of each mind and beyond, to send oneself an answer to any problem in life. Knowing the Word of God with strong faith accelerates the receiving of a firm answer from God.

Mankind is made in the image of God, and all things are made for man also. After the original sin man has had to labor, and fin for self. We live in a disciplined universe and a very orderly universe. We are constantly conditioned by the physical laws as we interface with the universe. Our mental and physical design by God has predetermined our discrete mental states. As the Word of God states we develop precept after precept.

A simple metaphysical expression symbolizes the rock that God laid in the essence of things:

Elements of the God Equation are QV, qv, and S.
Qua Variant (QV) is the way that God made things to work; the immutable laws of nature. The qv is states, mental and physical, in which man accrues by experiment. States (S) are the observables and well-behaved definitions made by man.

Man can contemplate the Word of God, the Spirit of Truth in the world (qv), only so far if for self…working to be a god. Given all the expert philosophy in the universe, man can only see the truth dimly due to the bounds of the material world. Thank God that a Savior with God’s Spirit came from above and illuminated the world. The Spirit of Truth in the world Who speaks only what He hears, and shall lead us from precept to precept. The Spirit of Truth in this world speaks of the Son of God Who is God among us in the flesh with all the temptations and limitations of the flesh.

Jesus was born as 100% man and 100% God. This is man’s connection to the supernatural, a reconnecting to God. In Christ Jesus Heaven is at hand. The universe constantly speaks of the Son of God whom is God among us.
