The Fourfold View of Creation

The doctrine of creation is an essential Christian teaching that reveals much about the nature and purposes of God. Creation is not only addressed just in the Book of Genesis but throughout the various parts of Scripture. And the very first article of the Apostles’ Creed speaks of God’s act in creation:

“I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.”1

But what exactly does historic Christianity affirm about creation? In this article I will set forth a fourfold view of creation that reflects the teaching of Scripture and comprises a doctrine that is affirmed by all historic branches of Christendom.

Let’s begin with a definition of creation provided by Christian theologian Bruce Milne: “Creation is that work of the triune God by which he called all things that exist, both material and spiritual, into existence out of non-existence.”2

The Christian doctrine of creation thus affirms that God as a necessary being (a being that cannot not exist or must exist) called all contingent realities (things that cannot create themselves) into existence. God is thus the infinite and eternal, self-existent creator of all things.

So let’s now turn to the four points of creation.

1. The triune God created all things.

Our first point is that the three members of the Godhead were all actively involved in creation. While God the Father is considered the primary agent in creation (1 Corinthians 8:6), the Son (Colossians 1:16) and the Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:1–2) served as his cooperative co-agents. In trinitarian theology, whenever one member of the Trinity is involved in a divine act then in some way all three participate. Thus a trinitarian way of discussing the topic is to say that creation is from the Father, through the Son, and by the Holy Spirit. Another biblically based statement is to affirm that the Father gives creation, whereas the Son upholds it, and the Holy Spirit adorns it.

2. The triune God created all things out of or from nothing.

This point affirms the biblical doctrine of creation ex nihilo (Romans 4:17; Hebrews 11:3). This critical doctrine teaches that there was originally nothing but God (an infinite, eternal, and tri-personal spirit). By means of his incalculable wisdom and infinite power, God alone brought the universe into existence from nothing (not from any preexistent physical reality such as matter and its connected realities). Thus everything other than God was called into existence from nothing.

3. The triune God sustains all things in existence.

This statement affirms that upon creating the world, God continues to sustain and uphold his creation (Colossians 1:17; Hebrews 1:3). God continuously upholds (Greek: pherō, “carry or bear”) all things in their existence and sustains the natural properties of those created things. Thus the fact that the created order remains in existence after creation is also a divine miracle. The apostle Paul even places our lives and being in God’s sustaining hands: “‘For in him we live and move and have our being’” (Acts 17:28).

4. The triune God directs all things toward their appointed end.

As the supreme authority of all things, God continually directs the course of all actions and events toward accomplishing his sovereign purposes. Paul describes God’s overruling plan thusly: “In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will” (Ephesians 1:11).

The three persons of the Godhead created all things from nothing and continue to sustain the creation and direct it according to his sovereign purposes.

So not only is the doctrine of creation an essential belief of the historic Christian faith, but it also reveals God’s deep investment in the created order and in our lives as his creatures and redeemed children.

The fourfold view of creation also reveals that the triune God alone is deserving of worship and devotion, not the contingent creation. The universe, because it was created by God, possesses objective meaning, purpose, and significance. And this world is the stage for God’s redemptive actions in Christ.

God’s Spirit Of Truth Speaks Only What He Hears

The Spirit Of Truth is God’s truth in the world that submits itself unto each person. Humans are always exposed to the Spirit Of Truth; we face him daily and in our dreams. The entire universe is speaking of the Son Of God as does the Spirit Of Truth from the Father. Let the prominent scriptures soak into your mind.

Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.

the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.

[ The Work of the Holy Spirit ] “When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father—the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father—he will testify about me.

But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.

And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit,

[ Stand Firm ] But we ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters loved by the Lord, because God chose you as firstfruits to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth.
 <
We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we recognize the Spirit of truth and the spirit of falsehood.
 <
We can see that God’s Spirit Of Truth proceeds to fill in the facts that Jesus is the Son Of God Who possesses God’s Holy Spirit. In His Spirit, we experience full life in the presence of our Heavenly Father Who gives eternal life. One can give their burdens to the Lord Jesus for He is our Savior and died in order to pay our sin debts. Through Him, we can stand spotless before God and have our being in His rest. The Spirit Of Truth shall bring you to Christ Jesus.

Thoughts on Is Genesis History?

A lot of people have inquired about RTB’s response to the documentary Is Genesis History? We have purposely not posted anything about the documentary because no one on our staff had seen it. Last night, I saw Is Genesis History? along with two of my colleagues. Here is our response.

First, a little background: According to its website, Is Genesis History? “is a fascinating new look at the biblical, historical, and scientific evidence for Creation and the Flood. Learn from more than a dozen scientists and scholars as they explore the world around us in light of Genesis.” Digging a little deeper, the people involved claim to provide “a positive case for creation in six normal days, a real Adam and Eve, a global flood, and a tower of Babel.”

We joined roughly 80 people at the theater for the one-night showing. Frequently, the audience responded with gasps and oohs as the documentary showed some of the truly remarkable aspects of creation—impressive geological formations, stunning images of the heavens, and amazing details about various creatures from the past and present. It came as no surprise to see how witnessing creation often draws people toward worship.

A HUGE PROBLEM

Shortly into the film, a sharp dividing line was drawn. According to the scientists, theologians, and philosophers interviewed, only two paradigms exist for viewing Earth’s history. Either the “historical Genesis paradigm” tells the history properly, or the “conventional paradigm” (the standard scientific account) does. However, the documentary defines the latter as “deep time” (a 14-billion-year-old universe and a 4.5-billion-year-old Earth) and “all the complexity of life [constructed] by strictly physical processes,” with no intelligent design involved. In contrast, the “historical Genesis paradigm” includes an explicit statement that the universe, Earth, and its great diversity of life were created in six 24-hour days.

This false dichotomy leaves out a great number of Christians (myself included) who see Genesis as history but think the Bible and creation point to a much longer timescale. (To his credit, Paul Nelson, who first articulates this distinction, wrote an article stating that the movie does not accurately represent his views and that the footage presents a false dichotomy.) I (and all of the RTB scholars) profess that Genesis is historical, that God supernaturally created the universe, that God performed the miracles described throughout Genesis 1, that Adam and Eve were specially created (and were the progenitors of all humanity), that the fall actually happened, and that God judged all humanity in the flood. Yet according to the documentary, because I think the earth is 4.5 billion years old, I do not see Genesis as historical.

To state the matter more directly, the false dichotomy presented in Is Genesis History? creates an unnecessary dividing line in the church, one that is harmful to unity in the body of Christ and hinders our witness.

An Engaging Story

When Is Genesis History? ended, our publicist, Anastasia Young, commented that the film seemed to make a good case to someone without a scientific background. I related to her perspective since many of the segments interviewed scientists in disciplines far outside mine (geology, paleontology, biology). As I listened to the stories they told about the Great Unconformity, the formation of fossil sites, and the discovery of soft tissue in dinosaur fossils, they sounded compelling. Often, I lacked the knowledge to counter the case they presented. However, these all seemed less credible after hearing an astronomer give the astronomical case for a young Earth. Astronomy is my area of expertise, and I quickly recognized the flaws in the story being told and know all the data presented fit quite comfortably in an old-earth perspective.

If you want to experience another compelling, one-sided story, watch some of the videos providing evidence for a flat Earth (like the short one on the left or the long one on the right). While all of these arguments have answers (and Earth really is spherical), they can sound convincing until you hear the other side of the story. These experiences remind me to heed the wise proverb: “The first to speak seems right, until someone comes forward and cross-examines.”

More Details

I think films like this provide a great opportunity to talk about Christianity and how it relates to science. If you would like more details on some of the relevant issues that Is Genesis History? raises, listen to the podcast that AJ Roberts, Anastasia Young, and I recorded after our trip to the theater.

One Final Note

The film closed with Del Tackett (creator of The Truth Project) looking out on a spectacular mountain vista. He comments on how God’s judgement in the flood (a worldwide cataclysm, in the movie’s view) formed all this scenery. Something about this statement sounds off to me. It seems to me that if the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, and Yosemite were a result of God’s judgement, my first response should be a recognition of my sin. But far more often, I find myself in awe of God’s vast power, profound creativity, incredible beauty, and amazing concern for me.

Under God, Unifying Spirit And Matter

By Will Myers

The biblical book of Genesis describes how God created all existence. When at God’s time He breathed life into matter and the results is the creation of man. We can assume that from this act by God that form and life are different, but life is dependent on matter in this world. Since God is a Spirit we know that God breathed His Spirit into the Design of man and man became a living being. All the forms of matter have always conditioned man and helped develop man’s mind as his brain storage increased in order for man to grow and survive his challenges.

God created the universe by the standard of His son, and the dynamics of the universe molds each person to be like His son. God’s works are to make people believe in whom He has sent. God is a spirit that created the material world. This is best expressED in the book of 1 JOHN 4:9; “This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.”

Humans endeavor to overcome shortcomings; firstly overcoming their material needs and afterward developing their intellect while spiritual needs arose. There is one characteristic of God that humans have always been exposed; God’s perfect righteousness from alpha to omega, the beginning and the end. In this sense, the end is with the Lord in heaven in the presence of God. This is the one unifying truth that holds for the material world of humans and the spiritual world of humans. Humans have always been exposed to God’s perfect righteousness giving the perfect order to all things as in the book of Isaiah 28:16. The modern laws of physics reflect this perfect ordering by God from the beginning of creation.

Isaiah 28:16;  “Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I lay in Zion (In the essence of things) for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.”

The Apostle Paul, states later in the New Testament that we can see the nature of the spiritual world by the way that things are made in the material world.

Romans 1:20; “For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:”

One can express the unity of the spirit and matter with a metaphysics equation, UspaceVspace=Q in which I label as the God Equation. The Uspace represents the perfect righteousness of God giving the perfect order to all things as verified by the laws of physics. The Vspace represents the nexus of all things; the dynamics of matter. All things are in constant flux; coming into being and going out of being (Greek philosopher Aristotle). The Q represents the laws or principles in the world leading into the spiritual laws. For God is perfect righteousness, and all that God does is perfect for all times. Therefore, Uspace times Vspace = Q is the identity of matter and spirit; the perfection of God in which humans has always been exposed.

Humans being exposed to God’s perfect righteousness and endeavoring to overcome shortcomings while remaining in a fallen state that is short of God’s perfect righteousness we continue to overcome things. Of course, we now have a Savior who is that perfect, righteous stone given by grace to redeem us to God. The Christ Mind existed at creation who is the Son of God. Jesus was born as the Son of Man in order to overcome the world for all of us and pay our sin debt for our redemption unto God.

Matter inherently contains the absolute laws of God; gravity displays absoluteness; it shall not be broken; jump off a bridge and it acts on anyone regardless of their statue in life. The nature of matter is always conditioning humans and supporting them at the same time. The spiritual laws of God are also absolute, but God has given us freewill and a grace period and doesn’t act on us immediately as does gravity. Although, the unifying metaphysical equation, Uspace time Vspace = Q holds true for matter and spirit in that the spiritual laws are also perfect. The human has learned from the material laws and has been rewarded by God. We have fallen short of obeying God’s spiritual laws and have need of Jesus, the Son of God, to be our perfection in the sight of God. Our God requires perfection for He is Perfect.

If all things were still then we would learn nothing. Since all things are changing we learn about God. The great Greek philosopher, Cicero, stated that all things are making a statement of a law, even a particle. He didn’t have the knowledge of modern physics as we do, but he probably didn’t know how right he was in a Christian sense. Cicero was supporting Christianity as reflected by my metaphysics God Equation of Uspace times Vspace = Q (a particle, all tangibles, spiritual laws). The Apostle Paul in the above scripture, Roman s 1:20, stated that from the way things are made (Q) we can observe the nature of God; as a result, humans have no excuse from learning of the Godhead.

This learning of God’s nature and His laws, physics and spiritual laws, has a problem. No human can obey all of the laws of God for God is perfect and demands perfection. Even if man looks at all of the mosaic pieces of the laws, man can not put them together into one whole perfect law (Q) as demanded by God. So, God sent a Savior; His one and only Son, Jesus Who is perfect in order to stand in the face of God with the Son’s perfection.  The Son of God completes the God equation of Uspace times Vspace = Q; for Jesus is God’s perfect righteousness giving the perfect order to all things for this is reality. This began at Creation when  matter and spirit was merged

The identity of spirit and matter is God’s perfect righteousness giving the perfect order to all things (Uspace). We observe Uspace times Vspace = Q, which represents the identity of spirit and matter. All things, spiritual (Q) and matter (Q), are showing us something about the one Truth of God. God created the universe in which His Son was and is the life of Uspace times Vspace = Q, a unity of spirit and matter. For the Son has overcome the world and in Him all shortcomings have been overcome with all things being made possible.

1 JOHN 4:9; “This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.”

Earwax Discovery Gives New Hearing to the Case for Intelligent Design

If you are like most people, you probably haven’t devoted much thought to earwax, unless it relates to the safest way to clean it out of your ears.

But earwax is worth thinking about, because it is a remarkable substance with extraordinary properties, as recent work by engineers from Georgia Institute of Technology (GIT) attests.1 In fact, the GIT researchers think that they can use their new insight about earwax to develop specialized filters for electronic devices that must perform in dusty environments.

By using earwax as an inspiration for new technology, these researchers have unwittingly provided more evidence for intelligent design, while at the same time raising a powerful challenge to the evolutionary explanation for the history and the design of life.

What Is Earwax?

This substance is an eclectic mixture of fatty acids, fatty alcohols, cholesterol, and squalene formed from secretions of the sebaceous and the ceruminous glands that line the outer portion of the ear canal. Earwax also consists of shed epithelial cells and hair.

Earwax is produced by all mammals, including humans. Two different types of earwax are found in humans, referred to as wet and dry. Honey brown in color, wet earwax contains a higher concentration of lipids and pigments than dry earwax. A single genetic change converts wet earwax (which is the genetically dominant form) into dry earwax (the genetically recessive form), which is gray and flaky.

The type of earwax a person has reflects their ancestry, with people of African and European descent having the wet variety and Asian and Native American people groups having dry earwax. Anthropologists have noted a correlation between earwax type and body odor. People with wet earwax tend to be more odiferous than people with dry earwax. Anthropologists think this correlation reflects sweat production levels, with people with wet earwax sweating more profusely than people with dry earwax. Presumably, the mutation which alters the color and consistency of the earwax also impacts sweat production. Anthropologists think that reduced sweating may have offered an advantage to Asian peoples and Native Americans, and consequently, dry earwax became fixed within these populations.

What Is the Function of Earwax?

Earwax serves several functions. One is protecting the inner ear from water, dust particles, and microorganisms. Even though earwax is a solid substance, it allows air to flow through it to the inner ear. Yet, the high fat content of earwax makes it an ideal water repellent, keeping water away from the inner ear. The hair fibers in earwax serve a useful function, forming a meshwork that traps dust particles. And the acidic pH of earwax and the lysosomes from the cellular debris associated with it impart this waxy secretion with antibacterial and antifungal properties.

The fatty materials associated with earwax also help lubricate the skin of the inner ear canal as the earwax moves toward the outer ear. Earwax motion occurs via a conveyor action set up, in part, by the migration of epithelial cells toward the outer ear. These migrating cells, which move at about the same rate as fingernails grow, carry the earwax along with them. Jaw motion also helps with the earwax movement.

By comparing earwax from several animals and by video recording earwax in human ear canals, the GIT researchers discovered that earwax has special properties that make it a non-Newtonian fluid. It is solid at rest, but flows when under pressure. Apparently, the pressure exerted on the earwax from jaw movements helps it to flow toward the outer ear. This movement serves as a cleaning mechanism, carrying the debris picked up by the earwax toward the outer ear. Interestingly, the particles picked up by the earwax alter its consistency, from a waxy material, to a flaky solid that readily crumbles, making it easier to clear the outer ear, while making room for newer, cleaner earwax.

New Technology Inspired by Earwax

The GIT engineers recognized that, based on its physical properties, earwax could serve as an inspiration for the design of new types of filters that could protect electronics from water and dusty environments. With a bit of imagination, it is possible to conceive of ways to take advantage of shear-thinning behavior to design filters that could be readily replaced with cleaner ones, once they have trapped their limit of dust particles.

Biomimetics, Bioinspiration, and the Case for Intelligent Design

It has become rather commonplace for engineers to employ insights from biology to solve engineering problems and to inspire the invention of new technologies. This activity falls under the domain of two relatively new and exciting areas of engineering known as biomimetics and bioinspiration. As the names imply, biomimetics involves direct copying (or mimicry) of designs from biology, whereas bioinspiration relies on insights from biology to guide the engineering enterprise.

From my perspective, the use of biological designs to guide engineering efforts seems fundamentally at odds with evolutionary theory. Generally, evolutionary biologists view biological systems as the products of an unguided, historically contingent process that co-opts preexisting systems to cobble together new ones. Evolutionary mechanisms can optimize these systems, but they are still kludges, in essence.

Given the unguided nature of evolutionary mechanisms, does it make sense for engineers to rely on biological systems to solve problems and inspire new technologies? Is it in alignment with evolutionary beliefs to build an entire subdiscipline of engineering upon mimicking biological designs? I would argue that these engineering subdisciplines do not fit with the evolutionary paradigm. On the other hand, biomimetics and bioinspiration naturally flow out of a creation model approach to biology. Using designs in nature to inspire engineering only makes sense if these designs arose from an intelligent Mind.

Cosmic Creation Battle May Be Over

The predominant cosmic creation model is a hot big bang creation model known as the ΛCDM model. The hot big bang refers to the universe being infinitely or near infinitely hot at its beginning and therefore cooling as it expands. The ΛCDM refers to the primary components of the universe. The Greek lambda (Λ) in ΛCDM is a cosmological constant that refers to dark energy. CDM refers to cold dark matter, that is, exotic dark matter where nearly all the exotic matter particles are moving at velocities very much below the velocity of light. Together, ΛCDM designates what most astronomers are convinced are the two major components of the universe (dark energy and cold dark matter).

The ΛCDM cosmic creation model, however, is not without competition. In 1983, astronomers developed a countermodel known as MOND (modified Newtonian dynamics). In MOND, Newton’s laws of motion are modified from a pervasive inverse square law where the force of gravity between two massive bodies, regardless of the separation distance, weakens with the square of the distance separating the two bodies. In MOND, the inverse square law applies where the distance separating the two bodies is less than about ten thousand light-years, but a different law applies for much greater separation distances. Where the distance between two bodies is more than several tens of thousands of light-years, the force of gravity between two massive bodies weakens with the distance separating the bodies. Exactly at what separation distance the inverse square law transitions to just an inverse law is still an active subject of inquiry.

What birthed the MOND model was that ever since the 1970s, astronomers have observed that stars in the outer parts of large spiral galaxies orbit the central cores of these galaxies at rates much faster than they would if the visible matter in the galaxies alone were responsible for the gravity pulling on these stars. MOND solves this problem by proposing that stars in the outer parts of large spiral galaxies obey an inverse law of Newtonian dynamics while stars in the inner parts of these galaxies obey an inverse square law of Newtonian dynamics.

Most astronomers, however, preferred to solve the problem of fast-moving stars in the outer parts of large spiral galaxies by proposing that in addition to the universe containing ordinary matter (matter that strongly interacts with light) it also contains exotic dark matter (matter that does not or very weakly interacts with light). To adequately solve the fast-moving outer orbit stars, however, the ratio of exotic matter mass to ordinary matter mass needed to be nearly six to one.

Where MOND had beat out ΛCDM is that it perfectly predicted the velocities of outer galactic orbit stars whereas ΛCDM came close (but not perfectly close) to predicting these velocities.1Everywhere else where the predictions of MOND and ΛCDM could be compared, ΛCDM won and MOND failed to even come close. For example, MOND could not explain the orbits of galaxies in clusters of galaxies without introducing exotic matter, albeit MOND only needed one-fifth as much exotic matter as the ΛCDM model. Where MOND failed spectacularly is that it cannot explain the patterns seen in the most detailed maps of the cosmic microwave background radiation (the radiation remaining from the cosmic creation event) or in the largest and most detailed maps of galaxy clusters and galaxies. These maps2 establish the following ingredients making up the universe:

  1. dark energy                            70.7%
  2. exotic matter                         24.68%
  3. ordinary matter                    4.66%
  4. relativistic particles             0.0085%
  5. gravity wave energy            <0.000017% li=””>

Another observational proof is that MOND gets the wrong abundance value for exotic matter in a study of a pair of galaxy clusters colliding with one another. The two colliding galaxy clusters together are known as the Bullet Cluster. Here, astronomers used gravitational lensing to map the exotic dark matter. The MOND model predicted that the exotic matter would be centered on the visible matter. The ΛCDM model predicted that the exotic matter would be considerably offset from the visible matter. What astronomers measured was the offset predicted by the ΛCDM model.3

MOND also performs poorly in predicting the dynamics of stars in globular clusters.4 It even fails to predict the dynamics of stars in dwarf and small spiral galaxies.5 The bottom line is that the only thing MOND has going for it is its unique success in predicting the velocities of distantly orbiting stars in large spiral galaxies.

Now, a team of eight theoreticians has demonstrated that this success is no longer unique. They show that the ΛCDM model can do just as good a job in predicting the velocities of these stars.6The key, the team of eight pointed out, is for there to exist some level of gravitational interplay between exotic and ordinary matter.

That being the case, the size of exotic dark matter halos will correlate with that of the galaxy that forms within it. Then, presuming that correlation and the ΛCDM cosmic creation model are correct, the team calculated predicted velocities for distantly orbiting stars spanning a wide range of spiral galaxy sizes. Their predicted velocity values matched observed velocity values for the full range of spiral galaxy sizes.

One caveat is that the MOND model still delivers slightly better fits for the relevant distantly orbiting stars, but the fits are only slightly better. However, the team of eight and other astrophysicists are confident that these tiny discrepancies will disappear as simulations of the tricky interactions between exotic and ordinary matter improve.

These astrophysicists have also proposed an observational way forward. The same team of eight and two other theoreticians have just published a paper in which they show how the detection and characterization of reionization-limited neutral hydrogen clouds in the Local Group of galaxies would provide “a unique probe of the small scale clustering of CDM.”7

How do these new advances affect the case for the biblically predicted cosmic creation event? While both MOND and ΛCDM are cosmic creation models, MOND’s challenge to ΛCDM had cast some doubt on the detailed reliability of the ΛCDM model. That doubt has now been removed. The velocities of distantly orbiting stars around the central cores of large spiral galaxies is no longer a problem or an anomaly for the ΛCDM model. The spectacular success of the ΛCDM cosmic creation model in predicting in detail the features seen in maps of the cosmic background radiation and of the universe’s galaxies and galaxy clusters now stand without any known unresolved anomalies.

The foundation of the ΛCDM cosmic creation model is the biblically predicted big bang universe—a universe that expands under unchanging laws of physics from a space-time beginning where one of the physical laws is a pervasive law of decay. These new research studies that firmly establish ΛCDM cosmology once again demonstrate that the more we learn about the universe, the more evidence we uncover for the existence of a cosmic Creator and cosmic Designer that matches the Creator-Designer God of the Bible.

God’s Works; Jesus Always

From the beginning of creation God made the universe to be a standard in which His Son, Christ Jesus, would be the life of all creation. The Spirit Of Truth, in the world who testifies of God’s Truth as He hears it, shall testify of the Son, Jesus, also. Let the truth of the Word Of God come unto you.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.
<
The same was in the beginning with God.
<
No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.
<
But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:
<
Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
<
Therefore hath the Lord watched upon the evil, and brought it upon us: for the Lord our God is righteous in all his works which he doeth: for we obeyed not his voice.
<
He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
<
The following passages is a parable telling of the coming of the Son Of God to set up His kingdom that shall last forever.
<

MATTHEW; 2 The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son,

And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come.

Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage.

But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise:

And the remnant took his servants, and entreated them spitefully, and slew them.

But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.

Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy.

God the Father anointed His Son giving Him the power to set up His kingdom forever. Also, God identified with the One, Jesus, as His Son.

And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.
 <
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
 <
I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD

By Will Myers

God created the world by and through His Son, Jesus. The Old Testament has His Son concealed within it. Of course, the New Testament reveals Jesus, the Son Of God. God’s works are to make people believe in whom He has sent; firstly, He sent His son, Jesus.

During the 16th century the belief that only the clergy could own and interpret the scriptures and talk with God on behalf of a commoner. This was the law with a possible death penalty if broken. During the 16th century, there was a movement that any or all could own a Bible and talk with God personally. The movement was given momentum by Martin Luther from Germany and others in England and Rome.  A couple clergy was actually burned at the stake for their participation in this movement. As we all can guess, they WON. We can now have Bibles and talk directly to our Heavenly Father. We have been in the age of a Personal Relationship With God for over 300 hundred years. Shamefully, the majority of the people is attacking religion instead of eagerly developing their personal relationship with God, our Creator.

In the following passages, one can understand that one soul is being spoken to mostly. The word “you” is used many times in the Bible; enough to believe that “you” are the main priority with God.

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
 <

Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin.

If, in fact, Abraham was justified by works, he had something to boast about—but not before God.

David says the same thing when he speaks of the blessedness of the one to whom God credits righteousness apart from works:

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

So again I ask, does God give you his Spirit and work miracles among you by the works of the law, or by your believing what you heard?

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.

Now we who have believed enter that rest, just as God has said, “So I declared on oath in my anger, ‘They shall never enter my rest.’” And yet his works have been finished since the creation of the world.

For somewhere he has spoken about the seventh day in these words: “On the seventh day God rested from all his works.”

for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his.

Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.

The Most Persuasive Scientific Reason to Believe?

How do you respond when someone challenges you on one of your strongly held beliefs? Not long ago I faced such a challenge when someone showed me a published paper indicating that the universe did not have a beginning.

I first heard the scientific case for the beginning of the universe when introduced to Reasons to Believe during my years as an undergrad. For the past decade I have written and spoken extensively on how big bang cosmology (along with the associated space-time theorems of general relativity) demonstrates the scientific accuracy of the biblical account of cosmic creation.

The person who challenged my view argued that scientists need a quantum theory of gravity to know with total certainty whether or not the universe had a beginning (a noncontroversial and correct statement), and yet the sufficiently developed theories of quantum gravity point to a universe with no beginning! As I investigated his argument more closely, I recognized it carried some weight, and I acknowledged to him—and myself—that it required a reasoned response.

Furthermore, the experimental data to test the validity of these models still resides in the far distant future, at best. Second, the past hundred years is littered with theoretical models that attempted to explain away the beginning of the universe. All these models share one common history: the observational data eventually drove the scientific community back to models that include a beginning! The multiverse serves as one of the more recent examples.

I don’t know exactly what the proper theory of quantum gravity will look like, when and if we’re able to develop it, but studying the history of cosmology over the last 100 years makes me more confident of an important truth: If the Bible genuinely describes a universe with a beginning (and it certainly appears so), then the scientific data will eventually affirm that same conclusion.

Reasons to Believe recently produced a DVD titled How Do We Know the Universe Had a Beginning? that describes my experience in grappling with this challenge. I hope it will give you greater confidence in the reliability of Scripture and encourage you to share the hope of the gospel with your family, friends, and coworkers.

Biblical Prophecy That The Devil Want Erased

By Will Myers
 <
There are prophecies in the bible that has come true or is nearly coming true that approaches supernatural predictions. The book of Isaiah predicts that Israel would become a nation again. It took over 5 thousand years but it happened in 1947. The only nation to become a nation again. This prophecy coming true is incredible.

Isaiah 11:12-14; (NIV)

12 He will raise a banner for the nations
    and gather the exiles of Israel;
he will assemble the scattered people of Judah
from the four quarters of the earth.
13 Ephraim’s jealousy will vanish,
    and Judah’s enemies[a] will be destroyed;
Ephraim will not be jealous of Judah,
    nor Judah hostile toward Ephraim.
14 They will swoop down on the slopes of Philistia to the west;
together they will plunder the people to the east.
They will subdue Edom and Moab,
and the Ammonites will be subject to them.

 <

The prophecy in Revelation about the beast who has the number 666 has come true virtually because the chip is being implanted as I write. As we live, the move from the dollar unto only electronic transfers for buying or selling is happening. Within the next 30 years this process shall be completed. Incredibly, this prophecy was given over 1500 hundred years ago.

Revelation 13:16-18; (NIV)

16 It also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads, 17 so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of its name.

18 This calls for wisdom. Let the person who has insight calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man.[a] That number is 666.

<

Unbelievably, in the book of Job it was prophesied that the Earth was suspended and not hanging on anything. This was over 6 thousand years ago. Only 3 hundred years ago was this prophecy verified.

Job 26:7
He spreads out the northern skies over empty space; he suspends the earth over nothing.
 <
In the book of Revelation it was predicted that two witnesses of Jesus shall lye in the street for all nations to see. Of course, this was impossible until the recent invention and proliferation of the television.
 REVELATION
For three and a half days some from every people, tribe, language and nation will gaze on their bodies and refuse them burial. 10 The inhabitants of the earth will gloat over them and will celebrate by sending each other gifts, because these two prophets had tormented those who live on the earth.
 <
Experts from most scientific disciplines has predicted that we are in the end times. Their innovation of a cosmic clock based on the age of the universe (14.5 billion years) yielded that we are two cosmic seconds away from total destruction. Now that we have satellite communication, we can witness the gospel to everyone. This application is nearing complete in that everyone would have heard the gospel.
And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
 <
The fulfilling of the above prophecies is a testimony from God giving almost supernatural credence to the Word Of God in the bible. The devil desires to eliminate the Word Of God and deceive the people easily. Unfortunately, the devil is the main influence of the atmosphere above the earth. He runs to and fro in the Earth consuming whom he can.
