God Created Functionality; Scientist Discovers Functions

By Will Myers

Isaiah 28:16; (NIV)

16 So this is what the Sovereign Lord says:

“See, I lay a stone in Zion (Meaning “in the essence of things.”), a tested stone,
    a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation;
the one who relies on it
will never be stricken with panic.

Romans 1:20; (NIV)

20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.

Humans can make things; we can intervene in nature by imitating things in nature and experimenting with things in nature; liken unto a child in a nursery playing with building blocks. The above scriptures are the profound, fundamental messages on which science and technology operate and develop. The stone that God laid in the essence of things is God’s perfect righteousness giving perfect order to all things. Scientist seeks God’s perfect ordering, and humans in general seek God’s perfect righteousness.

All that exist has been created by God, and made possible by the human design to endeavor to put things together that had not been made yet such as a television which is a collection of God’s principles arranged together to make it functional. The television’s functionality was created by God during the creation of the earth 4 billion years prior.

Ecclesiastes 3:15; (NIV)

15 Whatever is has already been,
    and what will be has been before;
and God will call the past to account.

Everything that humans observe is an illustration of a higher truth. When we are wise we apply knowledge in a manner that reveal a higher truth. Knowledge comes from those things functioning. When humans arranges numerous things that functions in many different ways we get a more better view of their collective functionality which is less than all of the functions. Of course, this is the physical realms. The spiritual realms  are usually represented by “liken unto’s” in the physical realms as shown in the scriptures above in order for humans to understand. The most profound scripture that relates the physical realm to the spiritual realm is the scripture above, Romans 1:20.

Reasoning With God

By Will Myers

Isaiah 26:4; “Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal.”

Romans 10:6-7; “But the righteousness of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:) Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)”

Romans 10:8; “But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;”

The clergy, Martin Luther, of Germany during the 1600’s risked his life alone with others for the everyday person to be able to own a bible and read it for understanding of the things of God. This was the personal relationship beginning. Many clergymen were burned at the stake being incited by the religious hierarchy because at the times only the clergy could know the word of God and only they could own a bible. Thanks to the Reformation Movement we can own bibles and can read it and pray to God for an interpretation. It’s wonderful that we can reason with God for He is our Heavenly Father. We become to know this through Jesus Christ.

Isaiah 1:18; “Come now and let us reason together, saidth the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow, though they be red as crimson, they shall be as wool.”

Regardless of your sins you can come to God in prayer and talk with Him in a very intimate sense. Your soul is unique; there is none other in the universe but you.  Your life was breathed from God into your form then you existed. You know yourself; you have self-awareness who is your spirit (who you really are) kissing God’s Holy Spirit. The bible gives the forms for you to have knowledge and reasoning abilities.

Our purpose is to have God’s Holy Spirit; to have a personal relationship with God through Christ Jesus.

Placenta Optimization Shows Creator’s Handiwork

The Creator of the universe desires an intimate relationship with each of us.

It is one of the more outrageous claims of the Christian faith. And no passage of Scripture expresses the intimacy between Creator and creature more than Psalm 139:13.

A fresh perspective on this passage of Scripture comes from recent work by researchers from Cambridge University in the UK. This study reveals the central role the placenta plays in properly allocating nutritional resources between mother and child, illustrating the intimate care God provided for us through the elegant design of embryological development.1

This research also has important pro-life implications, providing a response to the claim that the fetus is nothing more than a harmful mass of tissue.

Nutritional Demands of the Fetus and the Mother

For a pregnancy to be successful, nutrients must be carefully distributed between the fetus and the mother. Yet sharing nutrients runs contrary to the biological tendencies of the mother and the unborn baby. The fetus has a genetic drive for growth and craves all the nutrients it can get. So does the mother. But for the fetus to grow and develop, the mother must provide it with the nutrients it needs, setting up a potential tug of war between the mother and the developing baby in her womb.

Ironically, if the fetus hoards nutrients excessively, the hoarding can backfire. If the mother doesn’t have access to sufficient nutrients during the pregnancy, it can negatively impact lactation and the mother’s long-term health, which, in turn, compromises her ability to care for the child after birth.

As it turns out, the placenta plays a critical role in managing this trade-off. Instead of being passive tissue that absorbs available nutrients from the mother, the placenta dynamically distributes nutrients between mother and fetus, optimally ensuring the health of both mother and developing baby. To do this, the placenta receives metabolic signals from both the mother and fetus and responds to this input by regulating the nutrient amounts made available to the fetus.

One of the key genes involved in nutrient regulation is called p110α. This gene codes for a protein that integrates the metabolic signals from mother and fetus. The Cambridge University researchers wanted to understand the role that the maternal and fetal versions of this gene play in parsing the nutrient supply between mother and developing baby.

What Happens When p110α Is Defective in Mother and Child?

What happens when p110α is defective in mother and child? To answer this question, the research team used mice as a model system, preparing genetic mutants, so that either the mother or fetus had a defective version of the p110α gene. If the mother had a healthy p110α gene, but the fetus a defective version, the placenta developed abnormally. But in spite of its defective appearance, the placenta compensated so that it would still take up the nutrients the fetus needed to develop. However, if the mother had a defective version of the p110α gene, the placenta (which formed abnormally even though the fetus had a healthy version of the p110α gene) transported fewer nutrients to the fetus.

In adult tissue, the p110α gene plays a role in regulating growth in relationship to nutrient supply and mediates the metabolic effects of insulin and insulin-like growth factors. That means that a defective version of this gene models conditions in which the mother’s health is compromised due to disease, poor nutrition, stress, or other factors.

On the basis of this study, it appears that when the mother is healthy, the placenta readily transports nutrients to the fetus and dynamically adjusts, even if it forms abnormally. On the other hand, if the mother’s health is compromised, the placenta restricts nutrient flow to the fetus to ensure the mother’s long-term health, with the prospects that the fetus can still grow and develop.

This insight has important biomedical implications. In the developing world, one in five pregnancy complications involve the placenta. In the developed world, this number is one in eight. The researchers hope that this insight will help them understand the etiologies behind problem pregnancies and also help them identify biomarkers that will alert physicians to problems earlier in the pregnancy.

This work also has important apologetics implications, as well.

Indeed, We Are Fearfully and Wonderfully Made

This work highlights the elegance of embryological development. It seems an exquisite rationale—a biological logic, if you will—undergirds every aspect of development. The optimal way the placenta partitions resources between mother and fetus, carefully managing trade-offs, evinces the handiwork of the Creator, and reveals the Creator’s intimate care for the fetus.

The devastating effects caused by mutations to the p110α gene raises questions about the capacity of evolutionary mechanisms to explain the origin of the reproductive system in placental mammals. Because the placenta is not a passive conduit for nutrients between mother and fetus, the challenges of explaining its genesis via unguided evolutionary process become insurmountable. If the placenta lacks the capability to effectively allocate resources between the mother and fetus—or even if this process operates in a suboptimal manner—the fetus may not survive, or the mother may not be healthy enough to nurse and rear the child once it’s born. In other words, it becomes difficult to imagine how the placenta’s role in embryological development could evolve from an imperfect system to an optimal system under the influence of natural selection because of the critical, dynamic role the placenta plays in embryological development. If this role isn’t properly executed, the child isn’t likely to make it to reproductive age.

Is the Fetus Like a Tumor?

This work also has implications for the pro-life debate. I have often heard pro-choice advocates argue that abortion is not murder, because the fetus is like a tumor. But the work by the scientists from Cambridge University makes this view impossible. Because the placenta dynamically allocates resources between the mother and the fetus in a way that preserves the mother’s health, the fetus cannot be viewed as a tumor robbing the mother of nutrients. Instead, it looks as if the placenta’s function has been designed in such a way to ensure optimal health for both the mother and the fetus. This study also shows that if the mother’s health is in jeopardy, the placenta actually compromises the health of the fetus so that the mother’s health is not unduly harmed by the pregnancy.

GOD’S PERFECT RIGHTEOUSNESS IS A LAW UNTO ITSELF FOR OUR SALVATION AND BENEFITS

We are exposed to God’s perfect righteousness Who gives perfect order to all things. God knows no chaos; only humans observes some order and some chaos. I shall now let the Word of God speak. We begin with the foundation scripture from the creation of time that is applicable for now and the ending of time:

1 Peter 2:6;

For in Scripture it says:

“See, I lay a stone in Zion,
    a chosen and precious cornerstone,
and the one who trusts in him
will never be put to shame.

From Zion, perfect in beauty, God shines forth (Zion in Old Hebrew means “in the essence of things.” ). We can safely say that God’s righteousness is perfect giving perfect order to all things. Science and all other disciplines observes this perfect order and takes notes.
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.

(for the law made nothing perfect), and a better hope is introduced, by which we draw near to God.

For the law appoints as high priests men in all their weakness; but the oath, which came after the law, appointed the Son, who has been made perfect forever.

[ The Blood of Christ ] But when Christ came as high priest of the good things that are now already here, he went through the greater and more perfect tabernacle that is not made with human hands, that is to say, is not a part of this creation.

[ Christ’s Sacrifice Once for All ] The law is only a shadow of the good things that are coming—not the realities themselves. For this reason it can never, by the same sacrifices repeated endlessly year after year, make perfect those who draw near to worship.

But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.

Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God’s law, but in my sinful nature a slave to the law of sin.

because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.

[ The Fulfillment of the Law ] “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.

He said to them, “This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.”

But this is to fulfill what is written in their Law: ‘They hated me without reason.’

[ Love Fulfills the Law ] Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law.

Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”

Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.
AMEN.

We Are God’s Handiwork; The Pattern Is Christ Jesus

By Will Myers

Ephesians 2:10; “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

God has a plan for each one of us. The calling on one’s life by God is a calling that the person wants more than ever. Many as held back from their calling due to the material demands on their life. For the worlds are formed by the Word of God Who is His Son.

Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
He also says, “In the beginning, Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands.

Isaiah 28:16;

16 So this is what the Sovereign Lord says:

“See, I lay a stone in Zion (Meaning “in the essence of things.”), a tested stone (Q),
    a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation;
the one who relies on it
will never be stricken with panic.

We can express the above scripture about the nature of creation with a math equation that I have labeled the God Equation, UspaceVspace=Q: we have the pattern of life by UspaceVspace giving the principles or laws of Q’s, the Word of God with all good outcomes (This is the general form containing all of the specifics). These are the works of God reflecting His Perfect Righteousness. furthermore, Christ Jesus is God’s Perfect Righteousness, the fulfillment of the law by which the Creation was created. Jesus was with God before the founding of the world. At God’s timing, His Son, the Living Word, took on flesh and dwelt among us. The Vspace is simply the nexuses of all things because we live in a dynamic universe that is in constant flux. The endeavors of scientist are to observe sub-Vspace (Part of the universe) and contemplate the law that explains the observation. The law is tested by observing the phenomenon in order to determine if the law does predict the nexuses or the final state of the nexuses.

Why represent a scripture with a math equation rather than interpreting it using English? Because one can express God’s perfect continuity and magnitudes; whereas, there are no washed out bridges and no void where there is no law. God has created perfect roads, patterns, in His plan for our life. One can furtherly represent our thought life with a metaphysics equation: UspVsp[choices summed over A(x) + choices summed over B(y)] = Q(z), the Observer Equation. We are always exposed to God’s perfect righteousness in our minds and bodies. It’s is constantly correcting our thought life; purging. The mind is always comparing A to B. Once the comparison is made and a conclusion determined then the resolve of (A to B) becomes a unit Q=(A to B) for the mind to compare to another priority, B. Contrary to popular belief, there are only one to one interactions in the universe with the mind being part of the universe. Einstein says that there are no simultaneous events. Believe it or not, the universe is taking one interaction after another. The thought that the mind is awaiting its turn in the universe for each thought suggests the mind’s connection to the universe and other minds in a more deeply metaphysical manner.

We are constantly imposing on God’s perfect righteousness and God is constantly purging our minds and bodies. Truly, we are God’s handiwork that can be shown many ways including the use of mathematics.

God’s Perfect Righteousness Brings The Son Of God Into Your Mind

By Will Myers

The Holy Spirit is God’s Spirit felt by some humans. God’s dispenses His Spirit at Will. Jesus, Son Of God, was given the Spirit without limit. One who receives the Holy Spirit has received power. Speaking in tongues allows the Spirit to make intercessions for us with God, and He moves thoughts in our mind from His infinite wisdom. God is omniscience, all knowing.

The Spirit Of Truth is God’s Spirit in the world. Most humans have experienced many partials of the truth and accrued a fragmented, mosaic conjugates of reality; pieces of the truth of God.

God has sent a Spirit in the name of His Son, Jesus, called the Comforter Who testifies of Jesus and tells of things to come making Jesus our Lord and Savior.

In Isaiah 28:16; ” So this is what the Sovereign Lord says:“See, I lay a stone in Zion (Meaning “in the essence of things”), a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation;  the one who relies on it will never be stricken with panic.”

Isaiah 26:4; “Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal.”

We are told that God has placed His perfect righteousness in the essence of all things giving the perfect order to all things. To God there is no chaos; only humans experience chaos alone with some order. We can symbolically represent God’s perfect order with an equation, Uspace times Vspace = Q, the laws and principles. I call the equation The God Equation.  Uspace means “God’s perfect righteousness giving the perfect order to all things.” Vspace is the nexus of all things because nothing is  absolutely static. Why not just say nature instead of UspVsp=Q? Because man intervenes with increasing degrees into many disciplines; increasing technology and scientific knowledge while after the pattern of the God Equation.

God’s perfect righteousness (Uspace) is imposing on each individual constantly and each individual is imposing on God’s perfect righteousness. From God’s perfect ordering, it partially rubs off on humans or inspires time after time. The car (Q) culminated from many forms of earlier order, principles, and (Uspace) by God. The functionality of the car is a series of nexuses (Vspace) predicted by humans (As God did, humans told of things to come to a very limited degree (Vsp)…the car runs!).

Your righteousness, God, reaches to the heavens, you who have done great things. Who is like you, God?
[ Psalm 72 ] [ Of Solomon. ] Endow the king with your justice, O God, the royal son with your righteousness.
I delight greatly in the Lord; my soul rejoices in my God. For he has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of his righteousness, as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”
But if our unrighteousness brings out God’s righteousness more clearly, what shall we say? That God is unjust in bringing his wrath on us? (I am using a human argument.)
“[ Righteousness Through Faith ] But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify.” Humans must have faith in God’s perfect righteousness in order to receive His glory because it is infinite.
I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!”
Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
 ROMANS 10:6-8;

But the righteousness that is by faith says: “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’”[a] (that is, to bring Christ down) “or ‘Who will descend into the deep?’”[b] (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). But what does it say? “The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,”[c] that is, the message concerning faith that we proclaim:

We can reason with God through His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. Firstly, in order to know what to reason about the Word of God is available. Also, your heavenly language of speaking in tongues is very powerful. Regardless how religion is under attack and much criticized today a personal relationship with God is still the most enjoyable life. For one to seek God’s council and be patient enough to listen for an answer will always get the very best resolve with following rewards.

God’s perfect righteousness giving perfect order to all things is the means to guide to the receiving of God’s Holy Spirit. In the beginning at the time of creation all ordering was from God’s perfect righteousness. Humans after God breathed life into them (gave us a soul) has been constantly exposed to God’s perfect righteousness and learning the ordering of things. This led to science and all other disciplines. God knows no chaos; only humans see chaos and some of God’s order.

Many people thing that humans has created everything except the dirt. The truth is that humans learned the nature of the dirt that God has programed into the dirt while God’s perfect righteousness was constantly imposing on them and vice-versa… God illustrates and man learns. God is everywhere (omnipresent) .

Each human has always been in contact with God, our Creator even before being birth the person was in the memory of God. God’s perfect righteous giving perfect order in the sense that all things has followed God’s law regardless if it is considered not following any order of a human. The universe has been designed by God to mold each person into being like His Son, Jesus. One must accept the Son of God when He presents Himself in the preponderance of evidence in your mind.

Would Discovering Aliens Disprove Christianity?

According to the popular narrative, Copernicus’s assertion that the Earth orbited the Sun started a relentless process of scientific discovery serving to remove any thought that humanity occupied a special place in the universe. Earth was not the center of the solar system, the Sun was not the center of the galaxy, and the Milky Way was not the center of the universe. Many take this idea even further to claim that Earth, including the life inhabiting it, is completely mediocre in every way. The discovery of any kind of life—especially intelligent life—beyond the confines of Earth would forever falsify the notion that humanity has any claim of specialness.

Associated with this line of reasoning, many believe that the discovery of extraterrestrial life (ET) would clearly demonstrate that many of the world’s religions, particularly Christianity, cannot be true. After all, the Bible mentions nothing about life beyond Earth! So, the discovery of ET would disprove Christianity, right? It’s possible, but not likely.

How Would ET Affect Christianity?

The type of ET found influences the answer. Few, if any, theologians would have any concerns about finding microbial life on a distant exoplanet. From a theological perspective, the Bible makes no explicit claims about how God originated life on Earth. However, Genesis 1:2 may imply that God created life early in Earth’s history and then protected it during an era when conditions on the planet were rather hostile for any living thing. A discovery of microbial ET would raise questions regarding the origin of life and whether it requires anything beyond the normal operation of the physical laws governing our universe. It may be that God created a universe where life arises by naturalistic processes, but one can make a strong case based on our best scientific understanding that the origin of life and the development of Earth’s life-friendly conditions both require divine intervention.

Microbial ET represents the more likely find, but the more theologically interesting discovery would be intelligent ET (like humanity that is “made in God’s image”). The Bible is largely silent on the issue of intelligent ET (at least the physical kind), so the dominant position in historic Christian thought is that humanity represents the only intelligent physical life in the universe. Just as people have speculated on the existence of intelligent ET for centuries, theologians have also contemplated how such a finding would interact with historic Christian thought. Here are some of the proposals offered, in no particular order. All of these options, except for the last one, assume that God created intelligent life on other worlds and these creatures chose to rebel against God like humanity did.

6 Theological Theories concerning Alien Life

1. Jesus’s incarnation, death and resurrection here on Earth was a singularly important happening that results in redemption for all intelligent ET. Perhaps humanity will spread throughout the universe, taking the gospel to all these creatures. Or maybe God reveals himself on each of these planets in a way that declares what Jesus accomplished on Earth. This option does present at least one difficulty. The Bible describes Jesus as the second Adam, meaning that both are related physically and in nature. Any intelligent ETs in this scenario have no physical relation (and maybe not even in nature) to Jesus.

2. Jesus becomes incarnate on each planet where creatures rebel, taking on the nature of the beings, created by God, on that planet. While God created humanity in his image, perhaps his creations on other planets have a nature that reflects God’s image in different ways. Given the description of the hypostatic union offered by Thomas Aquinas, the addition of other natures besides Jesus’s human one seems plausible.

3. The nature of the rebellion of other intelligent ETs results in God having another means of redemption for them. Given that God has only revealed the redemption plan for humanity, any proposals for what these other redemption paths look like are pure speculation.

4. No redemption is possible. This option seems the most offensive to human sensibilities, specifically because of the difficulty of reconciling it with God’s goodness, omniscience, and power. Some would object that an all-knowing, all-good, all-powerful God cannot create beings subject to eternal hell. In fact, many raise the same objection in the context of humanity. However, a few points warrant mention. First, our finite minds cannot comprehend all that God knows. Second, true free will has consequences. While God is good in his nature, he is also just. Although this option seems offensive, it does have precedent in the Bible. Angels had a choice to either serve God or Lucifer. No offer of redemption exists for those angels who followed Lucifer.

5. God created intelligent life with free will, but these creatures chose not to follow in humanity’s rebellion. Lacking any violation of God’s command, these creatures have no need of redemption. They already enjoy proper relationship with God. C. S. Lewis explores this idea in his Space Trilogy.

6. One final, and very real, possibility: God only created one intelligent creature in the entire universe. If so, then the redemption story of life on Earth is the story of the universe and this discussion becomes moot.

Science and Theology’s Common Ground

A common objection scientists level against Christianity, and religion in general, is its lack of testability. Stated another way, they charge that Christianity is so flexible and vague that nothing could ever falsify it. Ironically, many people (Christians and non-Christians alike) think that finding intelligent ET would falsify Christianity. The discussion above identifies a number of ways that historic Christian theology would incorporate the discovery of intelligent ET. But doesn’t the wide number of options just validate the charge of inordinate flexibility and vagueness?

Actually, scientists consider that property a virtue. Consider a topic investigated extensively by the scientific community over the last hundred years: What is the proper interpretation of quantum mechanics? One might think this a settled question considering that quantum mechanics is one of the two most successful scientific models ever developed (the other is general relativity). A quick perusal of the literature reveals that many different interpretations exist for the underlying nature of quantum mechanics. The breadth of options on this topic represents the remarkable efforts of many scientists to address a difficult question. Developing a range of interpretations helps scientists know the experiments that will distinguish which one best represents reality. Similarly, a range of models for ET’s redemption help theologians discern underlying details of God’s redemptive story.

Einstein’s development of his theory of relativity did not prove Newton wrong. Newtonian dynamics still describes properly the motion of the vast majority of objects through space. Einstein’s relativity just gives a more complete picture. Assuming we find intelligent ET (and that’s a BIG IF), the discovery would not invalidate the historic Christian understanding of redemption. Like Einstein’s relativity, it would give us a more complete picture. Jesus’s life, death, and resurrection still provides the only means of redemption for fallen humans, but maybe God’s redemption narrative encompasses more than just humanity.

The search for intelligent ET raises great scientific and theological questions. And the discoveries made in that search will help us understand the universe better as well as how we relate to the God who created it all.
