Why is the U.S. allowing Trump to destroy it?

Chris Kiernan

Basically, because we have around 80 million or so frightened, cowardly, stupid and willfully ignorant MAGA morons who voted for him, and another couple of thousand greedy, un-American, power-hungry thieves and criminal assholes sprinkled throughout the government that are helping him do it. We currently have an entirely corrupt group of conservatives controlling the Supreme Court and the far-right has hijacked the power in this nation and are getting ready to rape Lady Liberty and murder our democracy.

It’s a disaster wrapped in tragedy and the rest of America is treading very carefully before taking drastic and bloody action to stop them. Let’s hope the right-wing idiots realize they are going to lose and decide to not take the country down with them before it’s too late.

Nicholas Conder

I foretold a lot of this happening back in 2008, when the GOP refused to expel the “Tea Party” Republicans from the party. Although I would say the roots of this go back even further, first appearing during the impeachment hearings of Bill Clinton.

Trump is a symptom, not the cause. He is merely normalizing the dark underside of US culture: an arrogant self-righteous segment of the population that believes in American exceptionalism who can be manipulated, greedy businessmen and a GOP that is willing to do anything for power.

It is a culture that promotes making money over caring for your fellow human being, and so a lack of empathy has overtaken American society. If it doesn’t happen to them, they don’t care.

Chris Kiernan

 · Dec 5

Nicholas, I couldn’t agree with you more. Thanks for reminding me of the background forces at play here. I tend to unload on the target in front of me.

Gerald D · Dec 24

The only problem here is that you don’t understand is that the Democrats will never hold the Whitehouse again ,period

Roger Lett · Dec 28

You realize your prediction is almost impossible, right? Never is a long, long time.

I would say your comment shows us you haven’t thought this through, and that you stated is shows you may be unlikely to think it or other issues through.

Gerald D · Dec 28

That what I stated isn’t a rumor it’s the truth just think of all the things that Democrats did in the last for years and you will see why Democrats , Republicans and liberals are all devastated at what your party did that’s why your parties numbers are way down to 19 %, somewhere where a party has never been before and if you check with the election department you will find a lot of Democrats switching over to the Republican party because we Republicans don’t try to shoot presidents

Sometimes I Wish · Jan 3

Gerald, “you Republicans” should learn how to structure a sentence and use punctuation!. Unfortunately not doing that shows a lack of education and therefore critical thinking! Sorry to be blunt, but it’s true.

Leslie Acres · Jan 3

😂🤣😂🤣😂😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣🤣

Samsung McKone · Jan 10

You are a very sorry human being, Gerald!

Gerald D · Jan 11

Oh I state the truth and you say I’m a sorry human being , well if you believe in God you’d have a different opinion, trust me

Samsung McKone · Jan 12

Why would I believe in a fairytale?

It never ceases to amaze how logical, normal people can toss all logic and sense out the window when it comes to believing in something that has absolutely NO EVIDENCE.

Believe first, ask questions later, right?

Well, it certainly explains a lot about your nonsensical opinions and ideas. People who believe things without evidence don’t seem to have problems with ignoring things they dont want to see.

But keep on believing. It got y’all a pedophile president and a whole bunch of new wars as everything gets more expensive. I bet if you pray that’ll help.

SIGH!

Ochachaway · Jan 3

There’s a reason though that someone might want to shoot this President. I’m not condoning such a thing, but I have to admit I’d probably be a little bit more cheerful if they were successful. I can’t think of anyone wanting to shoot any of the previous five.

Samsung McKone · Jan 10

I am condoning such a thing.

I wish for his death, I hope it is painful and lonely, though sociopaths dont really feel.

I hate this man for one very good reason, he is evil, demented, and absolutely the most hateful person to achieve fame since Adolf Hitler.

I hope Trump dies.

Never had that feeling before, dont like it, it sickens my soul. But I feel what I feel and I hope he dies. The means is unimportant. The world and the Universe will be a much better place when it happens.

If that makes me violent, Gerald.

Tooo fucking bad.

Cee Ries · Jan 27

Never will switch. Grand Old Punks.

Jean Pete Lynam · Feb 16

Republicans don’t try to shoot presidents , 🙇‍♂️🙇‍♂️🙇‍♂️do try and keep up methinks the 2 botched attempts on fat boys life 💩💩 were by persons with republican backgrounds 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ go read it up , it’s not difficult 🤔🤔

James McGoogan · Jan 15

You are a comedian, you should be on stage!

Michael · Jan 21

Huh

Samsung McKone · Jan 9

Uh huh, sure, Gerald, sure.

Graham · Dec 24

Why do you say that, Gerald ? Do you not believe in democracy ? You actually want authoritarian one party rule ?

Gerald D · Dec 28

The only people that want to rule this country under a king is with the democratic party, they ate the ones tleho try to kill Presidents

Frederick Simmons · Jan 9

🤔 say what 😲? We have been having fair and balanced elections for years, not perfect but at least fair as can be, every since trump came into politics and muttering if he loses the election it’s because the election was rigged against him 🤔, and this was even before one vote was even counted 🙄. Why does trump thinks he’s entitled to be the president 🤔? Money power and ego

Gerald D · Jan 10

Your hearing must be impaired go get an exam before you go deaf

Leslie Acres · Jan 3

?

Samsung McKone · Jan 9

Do not try to understand, Leslie. This is a sick mind, very similar ti what happened to the German people under Hitler. It is a form of mass insanity. Luckily, they always fail, it is only ever about the trail of destruction they leave in their wake.

Thank God that fat Quiff is 79 years old and obviously failing dramatically. We can only hope he dies in his sleep sometime soon. And, if that makes me violent, Gerald, so be it. I wish nothing but the worst for Trump and his entire evil family. Maybe when the people in power feel as afraid and vulnerable as they have made citizens feel, something might finally change.

But if the bloody destruction of the United States is what it takes to stop these evil Fascists, so be it. The hate is already there, the bloodshed happens daily, how much worse could a second civil war be?

Leslie Acres · Jan 10

It’s funny, a second civil war is my own prediction too!

Samsung McKone · Jan 10

I hope we are wrong.

But I don’t think we are. SIGH!

Leslie Acres · Jan 10

To us across the pond, the first one seems to be still going on!

Linda Mccormack · Jan 16

so sick,yikes!!

Samsung McKone · Feb 6

Yes, Trump is sick.

He is a pedophile and convicted felon, he is anadjuducayed rapist who has lost 94% of the suits he filed because he’d rather hurt someone then gicking pay them.

Look Up the 4 generation Stone cutting family in New York that was decimated and who lost EVERYTHING.

They usually insisted the customer buy the stone, since it can be ridiculously expensive. But Trump convinced them to purchase the stone, which he would pay for at the end of the contract. That was on the Trump Taj of course.

Well, Fat boy didnt pay, millions lost, in the end the Bankruptcy gave the 8 cents on the folder and it killed a4 generation company.

But cultists won’t hear it.

Linda Mccormack · Feb 6

HE THINKS WE ATE SOMEBODY? TWISTED!

Kenneth Faulk · Feb 14

Based on what guy? Are you foretelling a dictatorship? Because if we only have a GOP in control thats what well have.

Gerald D · Feb 14

When you believe to have a party that steals money and puts in illegals ahead of their own people, that’s a shame that will be recorded in our history books 😔

James McGoogan · Jan 15

So you may think! Where has democracy gone?

Nora Coryell · Jan 17

Hilarious

Lawrence Brumfield · Feb 20

The current party process will be terminated by King Trump. There won’t be any Democrats or Republicans. Just Trump’s gestapo troops used to impose his policies and retaliation tactics upon the American Sheeple.

Gerald D · Feb 20

Hurry, I can’t wait , their will be no more democratic people,in for just that , I just hope the take Obama and Biden first for treason against the American people

Rick Desautels · Mar 22

It’s more probable at this juncture that the democrats will take the house and senate in 2026 and the white house in 2028. After that there will not be a republican presidential contender for at least 20 years, just like after Hoover.

James Alexander · Jan 2

Are you saying that greed is a conservative trait? Let me point to two Ga elected. One was living in subsided housing and now owns several million dollar estates and is a millionaire, another was highly indebted and now is a multi millionaire. All this on government pay checks? Really??? The dimowit party is doing nothing for the people except extort us. I see that you choose to ignore the corruption in your party, how is that helping?

Steve St John · Feb 24

Trump has increased his wealth by something like $4B since becoming president. I look forward to your criticism of that.

James AlexanderI doubt that, you’re just throwing numbers with no way of knowing. He has donated his presidential pay, how many dimowits have done so? When Trump left the White House, was he found to be stealing things from there? How much did slick willie clinton and killary steal and have to bring back?

Mark Taylor · Dec 26

Very well said and I agree with you 100%

Frederick Simmons · Jan 9

Deep 🤔,on point and well said well put

Thaddeus [Tad] Majerek · Jan 14

WOW, were you smart back in 2008, LOL

Nicholas Conder · Jan 14

No, it’s called reading trends we learn from history.

USAF WIFE · Jan 18

As did I!

Walker · Feb 20

The “Tea Party” started in 2009 in response to the election of Obama.

Nicholas Conder · Feb 20

Point is, the first time I saw them waving their fake rifles around, I knew the US was in trouble.

Walker · Feb 20

IMO the U.S. had been in trouble for some time prior. It’s been a long road that keeps going down.

Nicholas Conder · Feb 21

I don’t doubt it. Movements like that are only the visible sign of deeper rot, and usually only come to the surface when a movement has reached a certain critical mass. For me, at least, the final downward turn happened when they chose Newt Gingrich to be Speaker of the House.

However, let’s not forget that lynchings are likely still happening in the US. Meanwhile, in Canada, the last lynching happened in 1884, and that by a bunch of Americans who slipped across the border and grabbed a First Nations kid.

So, you are likely right. It appears that the festering rot of racism and hatred hasn’t be excised from the US, and what we are seeing is that horrible brew bubbling to the surface. It is just that since around the mid-1990s the GOP made it fashionable again.

Rich Hazeltine · Feb 25

This started during Reagan’s tenure. You might remember Rush Limbaugh. He was a radio talk show who gained prominence promoting the agenda. It’s the heritage foundation and was the “seven hills” plan. It’s now the project 2025. Same crew with added support. Trump is the useful idiot.

Michael Mitchell · Nov 30

You know what they say , you can’t fix stupid . But the national debt is now 40 trillion . Household debt is close to 20 trillion . This country is nearly destroyed already . Our money shouldn’t say in god we trust . Try…Money can’t spend itself .

Phoenix Rising · Dec 25

Trump wants to annex Canada, Greenland and Venezuela to use the resources of these countries as collateral against US debt. This is the same form of economics as Nazi Germany.

Chris Kiernan

 · Dec 1

Precisely!

James Alexander · Dec 31

The fastest way to destroy a country is to bankrupt it, remember, obozo raised the debt 16 trillion. I remember when the US was a lender nation, now it’s a borrower nation. That was before the socialist unions ran our industries over seas. Our textile industry is gone, our steel industry is way down, name me one American car that is made completely in the US. I mean one that all the parts are made and assembled here. There isn’t one.

David Bristow · Jan 2

Try again. Are you paid in rubles?

James Alexander · Jan 2

But…..you didn’t answer one of my questions. Why did the manufactures move off shore? Cheaper labor. Why did the labor increase the US get so high? The socialist unions. Is there a car/truck made totally in the US? No. Am I paid in rubles? Not yet, but if this country keeps sliding towards socialism/communism we will be. The US was once an industrial gaint/a lender nation, now we’re neither.

Steve St John · Feb 24

I don’t remember anybody named Obozo.

Gerald D · Jan 9

Yes we tried fixing stupid with Barack Obama and Joe Biden but when your born with dementia like these two it’s totally impossible

Gary Behun · Dec 12

The Republcan Party and their rich donors have been working at making America a really dumbed down nation. They’ve pretty much suceeded.

Chris Kiernan

 · Dec 12

Yes sir. The mass of stupidity in this nation is nothing short of astonishing. We need to reverse the willful ignorance and loud stupidity of MAGA soon or it will be too late.

Phoenix RisingI imagine MAGA as a seething mass of Orcs!

Frank Walton · Dec 20

that’s a lot of hoping partner. But im angry at the lazy folks saying it doesn’t matter and dont vote and im mad at my fellow progressives that keep getting their panties in a wad for one or two issues and dont vote or vote 3rd party, ya did once mad at the dnc for the Bernie scandal then you do this dumb crap again because of Gaza. You just gave the country away for one issue. I agreed with both issues but im not using my vote as a protest.

then again we can add Putin and then fElon to the equation and all bets are off.

Chris Kiernan

 · Dec 20

Frank, can’t say I disagree with you. Thanks for the comment.

Paul · Dec 21

There is something in your assessment that is absolutely correct: due to the incomparably catastrophic level of education of the average US citizen, right up to the highest officials in the US, the current political catastrophe is self-inflicted.

However, what is absolutely wrong in your description is this:

the US is no longer a nation.

The US is a pack of wolves of inhuman, right-wing extremists, xenophobic fascists on the one hand, a fearful herd of immigrant, helpless refugees on the other, who are humiliated, harassed, and subjected to illegal crimes by leading US Nazis, (Immigrants, just like your Great Leader, whose ancestors, not by chance, came from Germany and would hardly receive permission to do so today) and a powerless, indecisive, and utterly ineffective majority of Democrats on the other.

You deserve your fate because you did not resist in time when all this monstrous stuff was even foreshadowed.

But the rest of the world doesn’t deserve this, and it’s a crime against humanity as a whole.

That’s why there must be a US-Nuremberg trial.

Cecilia E · Dec 1

We need a way out before the next election

Impeaching Trump hasn’t worked, he’s survived two of those already. For anyone outside the US, a President is Impeached by the House of Representatives, who decide yay or nay on whether a President has done something bad enough to try to get him out. If they say yes, there is, and the votes pass, he’s “impeached.”

But he has to be CONVICTED by the other house of legislature, the Senate to be removed from office. Trump was impeached twice but was never convicted or removed. I really am reluctant to see them try that yet again. What I think most people are waiting for is counting beans quietly to see if he’s done something bad enough to be able to be removed by the 25th Constitutional Amendment. That takes incompetence into account as a big reason to remove.

I listened to an expert talk for 30 minutes today on dementia and decreasing mental status, and he went over things very carefully. (I can’t remember his name, ) but he went over the strange ways Trump’s been walking funny, the line on the right side of his face looking different from the left, which could be a slight stroke; documenting the many ways his mental status is slipping, he’s not recognizing people he knows (like Hakeem Jeffries, Senator minority leader)— he sees Jeffries several days a week but this last time was saying that he’d talked to Chuck Schumer, Senate MAJORITY leader “who brought this really nice guy with him.” The nice guy, of course, was Jeffries.

His medical visits have had him doing exams for mental status and he got an MRI. You don’t get those if everything’s peachy. He’s uglier and angrier–the “Quiet, Piggy,!” remark to a reporter is because he’s disinhibited—losing the emotional control that keeps those kind of remarks out of our mouths.

One doctor who’d just looked at what you can see on TV said he didn’t think Trump would survive to the end of his first term. It’s a question of how many boats he’s going to blow up in international waters, (and possibly not rescue the crews) but you’ve got to get overwhelming evidence that will stick, that can’t be blown off. Overwhelming. It’s never been done before. The last time a President left before his term was over was when Richard Nixon quit in 1972 or 1973, because evidence had accumulated that he would be impeached if he didn’t leave. Both Bill Clinton, Democrat, and Trump, a Repub, faced impeachment and avoided a conviction.

But unless he takes off his clothes on TV or assaults a woman on TV (grab them by the…) it’s got to be stuff that’s hard enough to be nailed to the wall. It’s got to stick very hard.

I mean— my mother struggled with Alzheimers for about a decade before she died. She got to that angry stage and stayed that way, getting riled up if there were any minor changes, so my Dad became her caretaker. Her Medicare would have covered some relief for him but he didn’t want to have her be all angry. None of us lived very close, but we could tell she was drifting downward. She got lost driving home in a city she’d lived in about 50 years— twice, so she had to get the keys taken from her.She got to the point where she didn’t recognize me when I was sitting next to her.

I don’t know what kind of public meltdown will let us get Trump out by the 25th Amendment, but he’s approaching a hard fail line faster and faster. I dislike him very much, and it’s sort of odd that his family isn’t around any more. Ivanka was a permanent fixture of the 1st term. She’s been nowhere.(I wonder if any of that disinhibited behavior was turned on her?)

If the midterm doesn’t make a correction, we better get into survival mode. The evangelicals don’t mind dying for their God. Our constitution doesn’t recognize any religion and we’ve got along pretty good that way. But now, the evangelicals are injecting it into government to have their way. Preachers are praising Trump from the pulpit and keeping their tax free status. Trump will not hesitate to start a war to have his way!

It has been on its way for the 4 years of Biden and his auto pen and 8 years of Obama, under DEMWITS rule. Funny how it is all coming out now. And who are the ones that played the game of corruption, lies, money laundering, theft of taxpayer monies, we know. More to come so stay tuned! You won’t want to miss it! The DEMS are done!
