WELL…my point…..as an individual Trump leaves alot to be desired from a likeability standpoint! Hard to argue that he is not churlish, abrasive, foul mouthed, braggadocios and prone to hyperbolic speach….not to mention vitriol which is easily attacked by liberals. These are not qualities necessarily needed for successful administration! You can play “hardball” with actions….I.E., “speak softly but carry a big stick” to ref a well know quote! This all is not to say he is not smart or correct in his evaluations and chosen actions. The “messages” are largely good and on point. It’s just that he does not seem to be able to find a way to make himself a little more “likeable” to the masses!
Likability certainly helps when running for president. However it is not a requirement for leadership. Trump was likable enough to get elected twice. He doesn’t need or care to be liked anymore.
